Assistant Chief Kiel discussed Police Department updates which included the most recent hiring process status, upcoming and ongoing trainings, and the Citizens Academy Fall 2023. 5 NEW BUSINESS 5.1 Approve new Police Officer Exam Plan Motion by Maria Cuzzo, second by Tom Johnson, and carried to approve the new Police Officer Exam Plan. 5.2 Approve FireFighter CPAT exception for pregnancy Amended: Chief Vollbrecht requested candidates that were approved to the hire list on 01/25/23 be allowed one year from the date of hire to pass the CPAT exam Motion by Maria Cuzzo, second by Akela Lloyd, and carried to approve the FireFighter CPAT exception for pregnancy. 5.3 Discussion on adding statement to all Sworn Officer job descriptions Police and Fire Commission members gave the Police Department recommendations before they present the statement to the HRC.
