Ashley Wilson Road, Sweeny, Texas MINUTES BE IT KNOWN that Sweeny Beautification Committee of the City of Sweeny met in Regular Session on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 5:30 PM at Sweeny Community Center Meeting Room; 205 W. Ashley Wilson Road, Sweeny, Texas with the following agenda. I. CALL TO ORDER: Sanci Kennedy called to order the meeting of the Sweeny Beautification Committee at 5:47pm on Thursday, September 4, 2025 II. ROLL CALL: Sanci Kennedy, Ashley Rambo, Joanna Rambo, Ellen Farley, Starr Fitch, Melanie Mullins, J’Cee Coufal, Kayla Peterson, Nina Mendia, Stacy McMullin, Shelly Alfrey, Amy Bird, Michelle Medina and Jenny Massey were present. III. TREASURER’S REPORT: Current Balance = $27,520.80 IV. MINUTE APPROVAL/DISAPPROVAL: Motion made by Starr and seconded by J’Cee to approve the previous minutes from regular meeting August 14, 2025. All in favor. Motion carried. V. NEW BUSINESS: SWEENY EDC: • Sweeny EDC has presented SBC with a quote of $7,695 for a portable accessible heavy-duty shipping container-style frame bathroom and is requesting Beautification to purchase and donate this bathroom for either Gazebo Park or MLK Park. • Discussion that budget has already been set approved by council for FY26, possibly something for the future. No action taken. BOARD OF DIRECTOR NOMINATIONS: • Slate of Officers nominated from the previous meeting: o President – Sanci Kennedy o Vice President – Ashley Rambo o Secretary – Joanna Rambo o Treasurer – Kayla Peterson • No additional nominations 1  TRAFFIC CONTROL BOX ART: • No update - Ashley is waiting to make contact with SHS art department before seeking city council’s approval. JR HIGH HALLOWEEN DANCE: • October 25, 2025 6 – 9pm; setup begins at 5:30pm • Sweeny Methodist Church Gym • Theme: Glow-een • Starr will obtain the student roster week of CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK 2025: • December 6, 2025; Gazebo Park • Motion made by Joanna and seconded by Kayla for the Christmas in the Park 2025 theme to be “Santa’s Workshop”. o All in favor. Motion carried. • Chairpersons have been assigned as follows: o Vendors – Starr o Decorating – J’Cee o Parade – Erica o Walk of Trees – Kayla & Stacy o Joe Pantalone/Street of Lights – Ashley, Sanci & Joanna o Entertainment – Ashley o Children’s Entertainment – Sanci o Publicity/Sponsors – Ashley & Sanci o SBC Booth – J’Cee • Decorating will begin Saturday, November 8th. BY-LAWS AND STANDING RULES: • Motion made by Joanna and seconded by Melanie to table item number 8 for October meeting. o All in favor. Motion carried.
