CITY OF TALLMADGE BOARD OF CONTROL MEETING MINUTES August 11, 2022 5:30 p.m. Council Chambers Members Present: Mayor Kline, Finance Director Mollie Gilbride, Law Director Megan Raber, President of Council Dennis Loughry Excused: Meeting Chaired By: Mayor Kline Minutes: Tish Rowland I. Call to Order and Approval of B.O.C. Minutes for July 28, 2022 meeting. The Mayor called the meeting to order at 6:07 p.m. II. Adoption of Minutes. Dennis Loughry moved to approve the minutes of July 28th B.O.C. meeting; seconded by Megan Raber. Vote to approve: 4/0. III. Consideration and approval of a 1-year renewal for staffing temporary labor through Safe Staffing of Ohio. The effective dates would be October 17, 2022 through October 16, 2023. This is authorized in Ord. 78-2021. Discussion: Loughry: Is the amount listed in there? Gilbride: Is this contract renewable? Mayor: Mike Rorar said it has an automatic renewal. Gilbride: The dates in the contract are incorrect and I do not see a provision in the contract for a renewal. Loughry: We can hold this. Mayor: Let’s table this item until Mike Rorar returns or we can get a better handle on the dates. Loughry: I withdraw my motion. Mayor: The motion is withdrawn and we will consider this at our next meeting. IV. Consideration and approval of Change Order #1 to American Roadway Logistics for a price increase due to measurements for work performed with Pavement Markings. The total increase will be $77.21, bringing the new contract price to $56,393.24. The original project was approved by Council in Ord. 2-2022. (Related documents attached) Discussion: Loughry: Is this the Washburn project? Gilbride: This is pavement marking. Dennis Loughry moved to approve; seconded by Mollie Gilbride. Vote to approve: 4/0. V. Authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract with Northeast Ohio Trenching Services, Inc. for the How Road Park Entry. The base bid was $273,983.00 (This is authorized in Ord. 57- 2022) Dennis Loughry moved to approve; seconded by Mollie Gilbride. Discussion: Mayor: Mike Rorar vetted the company, and they meet all the qualifications. We had the bid opening and it’s within budget. Gilbride: And they came in the lowest? Raber: Yes, they were the lowest out of three bids. Vote to approve: 4/0. VI. Additional Items: No additional items. Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 6:13 p.m.
