MINUTES OF THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING November 24, 2014 - 3:30 P.M. Members Present: Chairman Jan Naso Commissioner Tom Kot Commissioner Christine Higham Non-Members Mayor Dave Kline Present: Fire Chief Pat Gaffney ______________________________________________________________________________ The November 24, 2014 Civil Service Commission meeting was called to order. Minutes of the November 17, 2014 meeting were approved as published. Mayor Kline gave an update on the position of Assistant Facility Manager. He stated that a tentative offer has been made. The process will not be complete until the results from the drug tests and physical agility tests are received. Chairman Naso gave the Deputy Fire Chief Assessment Center results to Mayor Kline and Fire Chief Gaffney. Mr. Naso explained to the two hiring authorities that they are not to make copies of the Assessor’s Feedback on both candidates and that the feedback is to be utilized for the interviewing process and then it has to be returned to Civil Service to be returned to Ramsey & Associates because of “trade secrets”. If the candidates wish to review their individual feedback documents, arrangements will be made for them to do so in the Civil Service office. Fire Chief Gaffney stated that the PRADCO Test (a Firefighter Index Selection Report that makes an emotional, intelligence, and leadership report) has been given to the candidates and completed and results are back. Copies were given to the Mayor and Dr. Pascarella. At the request of the Director of Law, a fingerprint check, VCI and FBI Check was done on both candidates. The posting for the Head Custodian Exam was certified. Chairman Naso stated that Steve Wood has requested the Custodian Eligibility List be reopened, therefore, the Commission entertained a motion for that list to be reopened and names be submitted to Mr. Wood for consideration. A request from Director of Public Service Esler to reopen the General Laborer Eligibility List was received and a motion was made and passed to reopen that list. Names from that list had been sent to Mr. Esler November 6, 2014. Mayor Kline stated that interviews have been started. Mayor Kline briefly mentioned giving a Police Test. Chairman Naso told him to send Civil Service an email requesting the test be administered and the process will begin. Meeting adjourned at 3:37 .m.
