TALLMADGE CITY COUNCIL
ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING
MONDAY, MAY 20, 2013 - 6:30 P.M.
IN COUNCIL CHAMBERS

1. CALL TO ORDER: Dir. of Law Raber.
Dir. of Law: It is now 6:31 p.m. and I am going to call the Organizational
meeting on May 20, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. to order. We will do the pledge of
allegiance.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
3. ROLL CALL: Mr. Donovan, Mrs. Kilway, Mr. Maguire, Mrs. Ray, Mr. Sarver,
Mr. Stalnaker – present. Also present were Mayor Kline, Dir. of Pub. Service
Esler, Dir. of Law Raber, Dir. of Finance Shanafelt, Economic Developer Loughry
and Clerk of Council Burton.
Dir. of Law: We have everyone in attendance. As we all know, the purpose of
the Organizational Meeting tonight was to elect the President of Council. We had
anticipated that the Precinct Committee persons for the Democratic Party would
have made a selection for the Ward 1 vacancy that was left by Councilwoman
Poinar. Unfortunately, they were not able to make that determination when they
met. I believe you have all received a copy of the correspondence from them
indicating as much.
At this point, I would entertain a motion to reset or cancel this meeting in light of
the fact that we don’t have the vacancy filled and therefore it seems premature.
Mr. Sarver: So moved. Seconded Mrs. Ray.
Dir. of Law: All those in favor? All voted aye. Hearing no opposition, we will
hereby cancel this meeting. Thank you.
4. ADJOURNMENT: Mr. Sarver moved to adjourn. Seconded Mr. Donovan.
Voice vote 6-0. The Organizational Meeting adjourned at 6:32 p.m.
