Donovan – Pres. of Council CALL TO ORDER: Pres. of Council Donovan called the Council Committee meeting of 5-23-16 to order at 7:00 p.m. ROLL CALL: Mr. Rensel, Ms. Tricaso, Mrs. Kilway, Mrs. Ray, Mr. Sisak, Mr. Stalnaker and Mr. Donovan – present. GIVE 2nd READING 3-0 Authorizing the Mayor to enter into a new manage- ment agreement with the Ohio History Connection for the Tallmadge Church State Memorial and pro- viding for immediate enactment. GIVE 2nd READING 3-0 Amending Ordinance 63-2015 approving and granting a conditional zoning certificate to owner/ applicant Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 219 for use as offices and educational institution for Local Union 219 offices, union hall and apprentice training at 1655 Brittain Road. Ordinance 46-2016 At 2nd Reading. ADOPT 3-0 Amending Ordinance 148-1991, declaring the inten- tion of the City to abandon any claims to a street reservation contained in an unrecorded plat located in Original Lot 3, Tract 16 of the Original Tallmadge Township and authorizing the Mayor to execute a quit claim deed to the owners thereof and declaring an emergency. Ordinance 49-2016 At 2nd Reading. GIVE 2nd READING 3-0 Amending and supplementing Ordinance 107-2005 approving and granting a conditional zoning certifi- cate to applicant/owner K. ADOPT 3-0 Authorizing the Mayor to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Summit County Metro Parks and the City of Kent, Ohio for connectivity improvements to the Freedom Trail and Portage Hike and Bike Trail and providing for immediate enactment. GIVE 2nd READING 3-0 Establishing the number of employees by department and position pursuant to R.C. 731.08 and providing for immediate enactment. Mr. Stalnaker: I just wanted to make a comment about Nate and Axel with their K-9 dogs and evidently they won or they were one of the best ones in the group and that is quite an honor for Nate and Axel.
