WALSH ARSENIO CHAVES Telephone: (508)821-1471, Ext. 3014 Facsimile: (508) 828-9 315 www.achaves@tauntonpd.com Honorable Shaunna 0' Connell, Mayor and Municipal Council City Hall 15 Summer St Taunton MA, 02780 At the November 21st meeting of the Municipal Council, Councilor McCaul made a motion to refer to the Safety Officer the area of Plain Street and Hart Street for further investigation and consider chevrons and flashing lights. I met with Councilor McCaul in the area of Plain Street and Hart Street. and we discussed safety improvements for that area. This area of Plain Street near Hart Street, there is a sharp curve. There is a sign that indicates a sharp turn approximately 200 feet before the curve. We discussed adding a second sharp curve sign in between the existing sign and Pratt Street. We also discussed adding several chevrons at the approach to the curve and at the curve. We believe this will give motorists a better indication that there is a sharp curve in that area. We believe that these safety improvements will help reduce crashes in that area. I spoke with theDPW, and asked that these improvements be implemented as soon as possible. Billy Leonard told me that he would install the signs as soon as they become available. We are also focused on making our network stronger in order to meet our customers' current needs and future demands. As we continue to invest in our network, products, and services, the cost of doing business rises. Rising programming costs, most notably for broadcast TV and sports, continue to be the biggest factors driving price increases. While we absorb some of these costs, these fee increases affect service pricing. As a result, starting December 20, 2023, prices for certain services and fees will be increasing, including the Broadcast TV Fee and the Regional Sports Network Fee. Please see the enclosed Customer Notices for more information. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at patrick_shearns@comcast.com.
