TAUNTON REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY MEETING MINUTES September 28, 2022 at 4 pm Taunton City Hall, 15 Summer Street, Taunton Silver City Conference Room, 2nd floor Members Present: Ed Correira Larry Silvia Jeff Pagliuca Manuel Spencer Members Absent: Chris Coute William Roth, OECD/TRA Ex. Director, was also in attendance. Dennis Ackerman, Consultant to the TRA, was also in attendance. Call to Order at 4:00 pm: A quorum was present. Item number 1: Review and approve the minutes of August 24, 2022. Mr. Silvia motioned to approve the minutes of August 24, 2022 and was seconded by Mr. Spencer. There were no corrections. Motion passed unanimously. Item number 2: Urban Renewal Plan Update: Mr. Ackerman reviewed the CAC meeting, he felt it was a good meeting with regards to participation, ideas and STANTEC did a great job with the presentation and facilitating the meeting. Item number 3: Northeastern Students Project – Reed & Barton Mr. Correira reviewed the meeting with the students last week. He felt it was a good meeting and a lot of ideas for their project were discussed. The owner listed up to four buildings that they wanted the students to pick from to evaluate, it could be one or all of them. They were told to think outside of the box and there were no limits because the owner and TRA wanted to look at all possible development ideas. The students after the meeting toured the buildings. The TRA had a general discussion on the student project and were excited that they were on board and getting started. Item number 4: Other Business Mr. Correira discussed a meeting he had with Ed Brennan regarding the TRA in general and specifically the concept of the City turning over tax title property for the TRA to redevelop. Mr. TRA – September 28, 2022 Meeting Minutes Correira was going to forward over an email to Mr. Roth from Mr. Brennan with a list of questions he wanted answered. Mr. Silvia brought up the idea of consolidating the TRA funds with one bank and not having two different banks. The TRA felt it was a good idea. Mr. Silvia motioned to consolidate the TRA funds with Bristol County Savings Bank and was seconded by Mr. Spencer. Motion passed with three in favor and Mr. Pagliuca abstaining. Item number 5: - Next Meeting The next meeting will be October 26, 2022, location to be determined. A motion was then made and approved to adjourn the meeting at 4:35 pm.
