Taylor Borough Council Special Meeting July 16, 2019 The Taylor Borough Council held a Special Council Meeting on July 16, 2019 at 7:30 P.M. at the Taylor Municipal Building, 122 Union Street, Taylor, Pennsylvania. On Roll Call - Councilman DeAngelo, No**; Councilman Fallon, Yes; Councilman Tigue, Yes; Councilman Derenick, No; Councilman Digwood, Yes; Councilman McKeel, Yes; Councilman Mickavicz, No; Mayor Praschak, Yes. **Councilman DeAngelo joined the meeting at 7:33 pm. Councilman McKeel chaired the meeting. He asked if the public had any comment or input on the Agenda Items – There were none. Councilman McKeel entertained a motion to accept a resignation from Full Time Probationary Officer Matthew Derenick dated July 11, 2019 to be effective July 22, 2019. A Motion was made by Councilman Tigue and seconded by Councilman Fallon. A roll call was made – Councilman DeAngelo, Yes; Councilman Fallon, Yes; Councilman Tigue, Yes; Councilman Digwood, Yes; Councilman McKeel, Yes. The Motion passed. Councilman DeAngelo asked that a Thank you be sent to Officer Matthew Derenick for part-time and full-time employment. Councilman McKeel entertained a motion requesting the Civil Service Commission to provide an updated Certified Eligibility List for a Full- Time Entry Level Police Officer, which will include administering a new test. A Motion was made by Councilman Tigue and seconded by Councilman DeAngelo. A voice vote was called and all Council Members were in favor. The Motion passed. Councilman DeAngelo suggested that the starting pay for Taylor Police Department be included in Newspaper Ad. Next, Councilman McKeel entertained a motion to approve the purchase of three computer workstations. Chief Derenick gave a brief overview of the request. A motion was made by Councilman Tigue and seconded by Councilman Fallon. A voice vote was called and all Council Members were in favor. The Motion to purchase three new computers passed. Next, Councilman McKeel entertained a motion to approve a request from Taylor Fire & Rescue for use of the DPW’s Backhoe for work to be done on Reynolds Avenue Fire Station. DPW Employee’s were donating their time to do the work. A motion was made by Councilman Tigue and seconded by Councilman Digwood. A voice vote was called and all Council Members were in favor. The Motion passed. Next, Councilman Fallon asked for an update on the Lightning Arrestor for the Generator. A brief discussion followed. Next, there was a discussion on the gutters for the shed at the Taylor Library - Awaiting quotes from various companies. The discussion was tabled until all quotes are received.
