Taylor Borough Emergency Council Meeting March 17, 2020 The Taylor Borough Council held an Emergency Council meeting on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at 6:00 P.M. at the Taylor Municipal Building, 122 Union Street, Taylor, Pennsylvania. On Roll Call: Councilman Naro, Yes; Councilman DeAngelo, Yes; Councilman Fallon, Yes; Councilman Tigue, Yes; Councilman Digwood, Yes; Councilman McKeel, Yes; President Mickavicz, Yes; Mayor Praschak, No. President Mickavicz asked the Public if they had any comments or input regarding the Agenda. There were none. President Mickavicz advised everyone that the purpose of this emergency meeting was to extend the Mayor’s proclamation declaring a State of Emergency. The Solicitor gave more detailed information, including the restriction to the Taylor Municipal Building which is now closed to the public, the Police Department public entrance is limited to emergencies only, the tax payments can be mailed in or put in the mailbox placed outside of the Taylor Municipal Building (no cash being received unless other arrangements made by the tax collector), etc. Next, President Mickavicz entertained a motion to adopt Resolution # 10 of 2020, to extend the State of Emergency Proclamation as issued by the Mayor on March 16, 2020. Modifying Section 2 of the Resolution, “all Tax payments must be by check or money order only (No Cash), may be made by deposit into the receptacle located outside of the front door of the Borough Building, 122 Union St Taylor PA; or mailed to the Borough of Taylor Tax Collector, 122 Union St Taylor, PA 18517; or make arrangements directly with the Tax Collector at 122 Union St Taylor, PA 18517, (570) 562-1400 ext 112, email Taxcollector@taylorborough.com. Nothing herein is intended to vary the Tax Collection Laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or any Ordinance of the Borough of Taylor with regard to tax collection. Further, it is the responsibility of the tax payor to ensure the timely receipt of any tax payment by the Tax Collector”. A motion to accept by Councilman Tigue and seconded by Councilman McKeel. On Roll Call: Councilman Naro – Yes, Councilman DeAngelo – Yes, Councilman Fallon – Yes, Councilman Tigue – Yes, Councilman Digwood – Yes, Councilman McKeel – Yes, President Mickavicz - Yes. The Resolution was adopted. Councilman Tigue discussed briefly regarding the safety meeting that was held. He advised Council that all departments should be using the proper PPE daily.
