a) Flag Football Report
Have completed 3 weeks of regular season games. Have 2 more
weeks of regular season games, and the playoffs on Saturday,
October 4.
b) Fall Soccer Report
Have completed 4 weeks of the program. The program is excepted to
be completed on Saturday, September 27.
c) Youth Basketball Report
Registration is now open for Kindergarten & 1st Gr. Boys & Girls
Basketball. The registration deadline is on Monday, September 22.

on Monday, October 27.

e) Adult League Volleyball
Have completed 2 weeks of volleyball, with the 3rd week of games
going on tonight (Wednesday, September 17).

Executive Session: SDCL 1-25-2 (sections 1-5) allows a majority of the body present to vote to
close a meeting when discussion revolves around 1)personnel, 3)legal matters, 4)contract
negotiations, 5) meetings may also be closed for certain economic development matters
marketing or pricing strategies (SDCL 9-34-19). It is the policy (2.11) of the governing board to
recess into executive session to discuss personnel issues such as employee qualifications,
competence, performance, and character or fitness.

Meeting Minutes
Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at 6:30 pm
The regular meeting of the Tea Park and Recreation Board was held on Wednesday, August 20,
2025 at 6:30pm at Tea City Hall. Board members present were: Vicki Pick, John Ganschow, Hallie
Munoz, Curt Hauff, & Jeff Portner. Chaired by Brian Headrick. Also present: Jake Kerr
- Motion made by Hauff and Seconded by Portner to approve the current agenda as printed. Ayes,
all in favor. Motion carried.
- Motion made by Portner Seconded by Pick to approve July 23, 2025 Tea Park and Recreation
Board Minutes. Ayes, all in favor. Motion Carried.
PUBLIC SPEAKING
- No news to report
RECREATION REPORT
- Kerr provided an update for Adult Outdoor Summer Pickleball League. The league has been
completed on Wednesday, August 5
- Kerr provided an update on the T-Ball. The program was completed on Wednesday, August 13.
- Headrick provided an update on Flag Football. The first day of the program will start on Saturday,
August 23. Did not have games due to heat index on Saturday, August 16.
- Kerr provided an update on Fall Soccer. We had first games on Saturday, August 16 due to the
program being in the morning. Kerr was gone on vacation that day and Riley Clark did a fantastic
job helping out on that day.
- Kerr provided an update on Adult Co-Ed Indoor Volleyball League. The registration ended on
Sunday, August 17. Had 7 teams registered (8 teams in 2024).
- Ker provided an update that Youth Basketball (KDG-1st Grade) registration opened on
Wednesday, August 20 & the registration will close on Monday, September 22.
OTHER BUSINESS/QUESTIONS
- Kerr thanked Ganschow, Portner, & Munoz for helping him with the 3rd Annual Coaches
Appreciation Pool Party (At the Tea Pool) on Wednesday, August 6.
BOARD MEMBERS PUBLIC SPEAKING
- Portner mentioned that he received a request to explore adding a breaker at the new ball fields
(Fields F & G). This addition would allow food trucks to have concessions in that area during games
and tournaments. He said he will speak with the Tea Maintenance Department to determine if this
is feasible and, if so, what the cost would be.
- Motion by Portner seconded by Munoz to set Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 6:30pm at Tea
City Hall for the next regular meeting of the Tea Park and Recreation Board and adjourn this
session at 6:58 P.M.. Ayes, all in favor. Motion Carried.
