MINUTES Park Board Meeting Meeting 6:00 PM - Thursday, April 11, 2024 Terrell Service Center, Training Room, 400 Industrial Blvd., Terrell, Texas 75160 The City of Terrell Park Board conducted a meeting on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 6:00 PM in the Terrell Service Center, Training Room, 400 Industrial Blvd., Terrell, Texas 75160. MEMBERS Chairman Leonard Lancaster PRESENT: Vice Chairman Dwight Malone Caroline Brown Sharlet Mitchell Savannah Nordstrom Secretary Patty Yocum MEMBERS Kelsey Wyble ABSENT: STAFF PRESENT: Project Manager Carnell Horn, Aquatics & Youth Coordinator-Sheri Davis, Administrative Technician – Yareli Larraga. 1 CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:00pm by Chairman Leonard Lancaster. 2 MOMENT OF SILENCE 3 ADOPTION OF MINUTES a) Discuss and Consider Adoption of the Minutes from February 8, 2024 4 HEAR REMARKS FROM VISITORS a) Ezekiel Bermuda inquired about the status of installing a Disc Golf Course at Ben Gill Park. 5 UPDATES a) Breezy Hill Park Dawn to Dusk City Council approved the amended Ordinance No. 3037 changing the operational hours for Breezy Hill from dusk to dawn to it's new operational hours from Dawn to 12:00 Midnight. 2024 April 11 Park Board Updates b) PADIC Board- Restroom Project The soccer and football restroom facility had leaks due to frozen pipes has been Park Board Meeting Meeting April 11, 2024 Page 3 of 6 ITEM 4.1. repaired. The new modular restroom near the pavilion was temporarily closed, due to water backing up into the restroom from the lift station. All restroom facility maintenance issues have been addressed and are operable. c) PADIC Board FY24 Due to limited funding available, an alternative selection for a new bridge was selected and is scheduled to be installed prior to the Jubilee. The cost of the bridge was $42,735. The quotes/estimates for resurfacing the multipurpose court and tennis courts at Ben Gill came in higher than anticipated. d) Crossroads Park Project This project is scheduled to be completed by FY25-26. e) Kings Creek Park TPWD Grant The basketball court will be relocated out of the floodplain. So far we have received a positive response from the residents. f) Downtown Projects Landscape and Irrigation is ongoing. g) Total Eclipse, April 8, 2024 We had an estimate of 500 people between the library and downtown. 6 ITEMS FOR FUTURE MEETINGS  Basketball Courts  Tennis Courts  Grants 7 SET NEXT MEETING DATE The members present agreed to meet on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 6:00pm.
