MINUTES FOR THE SEPT. 10, 2024 TISKILWA VILLAGE BOARD MEETING
The Village of Tiskilwa held its regular meeting on Sept. 10, 2024 at the Tiskilwa Fire
Station. Answering roll call were Mayor Michael Murray, Trustees Daniel Acker, Amy
Kline, James Cole, Brett Klinefelter and John Funderberg. Trustee Dan Yepsen was
absent. The Agenda was approved as presented. Trustee Kline made a motion to
approve the minutes from the August 13, 2024 board meeting, seconded by Trustee
Klinefelter. All ayes. Trustee Funderberg made a motion to approve the minutes from
the August 29, 2024 special meeting, seconded by Trustee Klinefelter. All ayes.
Payment of Bills:Trustee Klinefelter made a motionto approve payment of bills
totaling $65,409.96, seconded by Trustee Cole. All ayes on a roll call vote.
Treasurer’s report:Trustee Acker made a motion toapprove the Treasure’s report as
presented by Treasurer Ginger Murphy, seconded by Trustee Kline. All ayes on a roll
call vote.
Public Participation: There were 4 citizens presentat the meeting. Three to observe
and one with questions on snow removal.
Village Supervisor Update:Water Treatment:Quarterlymaintenance on phosphate
and chlorine pumps and hoses, installed new 60 gal chlorine tank. New Badger Water
meters arrived. Checking with Putnam co. on the bubbling of the paint job. TEST
ordering new high service pump.Water Waste Plant:Drained and cleaned East sand
filter & back in operation. Waiting on the on sight repair for blower repairs. Lift Stations:
Checked both lift station wet wells. Need to be cleaned this Fall. J.D. Belcher serviced
both lift station generators. 1 alarm on East Main lift station/ floats tangled.Parks:No
issues.Numosh Park: Installed 2 new benchesOther:Replaced 2 batteries in
International Truck. Removed old concrete street signs. Check Dams, some saplings on
all dams, inlets and outlets okay. 10 Julie dig markings. New alley between First and
Church Streets is finished.Expenses:Trash Bags forNumosh Park, Skisteer from
tower, 2 batteries for International Truck.Plans for next month:Remove play equipment
for West Park, Install aerator, start preparing plows, spreaders and trucks for winter.
Village Engineer Report:Our Village Engineer JackKusek reported there is a CDAP
Grant available next year for up to 1 million dollars for our Waste Water Plant and
recommends that we apply for it. He also stated we got approval from the Illinois
Department of Transportation on approval for road repairs around the town. This will go
out to bid and we hope to get bids and approval at the next months meeting.
Online Bill Pay: The online bill pay total for Augustwas $5,155.06

Police Report:The Police report showed 0 trafficstops, 64 security checks, no 911
calls and 45.5 hours worked.
Trustees Reports: Trustee Acker discussed where toput donated trees. Trustee Kline
stated Trunk or Treat will be October 27th. Trustee Klinefelter volunteered to purchase
candy for the bags the board passes out.
Old Business:
Village Vehicles:This will be discussed further atthe next board meeting.
Ordinances:The Ordinance for the non-highway vehiclesand the Ordinance for the
fines section will both be discussed at the next meeting.
New Business:
Street Survey Hill St. :After a discussion on a surveyof this street for the possibility of
future plans for the six lots being a subdivision there, the Board will continue this at the
next board meeting.
Sidewalk Replacement:Trustee Acker made a motionto approve the application from
Buddy Kunkel for Sidewalk replacement for 130,140 & 150 S. Sycamore St. at 50% of
the billed invoices reimbursement as per our Sidewalk Replacement Program states,
seconded by Trustee Cole. All ayes.
Board Roles & Responsibilities:Our Trustees willbe helping Mayor Murray with his
long list of jobs and responsibilities. Some of those are Trustee Acker, our Village
Website, Trustee Funderberg, Zoning Board oversight, Trustee Kline, Main Street Grant
and West Park Grant, Trustee Yepsen, Roadway Repairs, and Trustee Cole, Water
Meter installation and Village Worker manager.
There being no further business, Trustee Klinefelter made a motion to adjourn.
