MINUTES FOR THE OCTOBER 8, 2024 TISKILWA VILLAGE BOARD MEETING
The Village of Tiskilwa held its regular meeting on October 8, 2024 at the Tiskilwa
Fire Station. Answering roll call were Mayor Michael Murray, Trustees Daniel
Acker, Amy Kline, James Cole, Daniel Yepsen, and John Funderberg. Trustee
Brett Klinefelter was absent. The Agenda was approved as presented. Trustee
Funderberg made a motion to approve the minutes from the September 10, 2024
meeting, seconded by Trustee Yepsen. All ayes.
Payment of Bills:Trustee Kline made a motion to approvepayment of bills with
3 additions, totaling $59,114.75, seconded by Trustee Cole. All ayes on a roll call
vote.
Treasurer’s Report:Trustee Kline made a motion toapprove the treasurer’s
report as presented by Ginger Murphy, seconded by Trustee Yepsen. All ayes.
Public Participation:There was one citizen presentwith a complaint about a
demolition car sitting for two years at a property on Brewster St.
Village Attorney:Attorney Jacob J. Frost was presentat the meeting and
updated the Board on the Metro Communication damages.
Village Supervisor Update:Water treatment:PutnamCounty Paint are fixing
bubbling paint and peeling by sandblasting and repainting on the water tanks.
Replaced the chlorine pump head that was leaking.Waste Water Treatment
Plant:#1 and # blowers inoperable. Bearings burnt out. Have to replace # 1
Blower and rebuild # 3blower
Lift Stations:#1 station alarm- 3 out of 5 floatsnot working. Replaced them. Met
with Gillan const. Checked pump, check valve that needed replaced. Station#2 1
alarm- floats were tangled.Parks:watered trees atNumosh Park. Fountains are
in.Other:Did 12 Julie Dig Markings, cleaned stormdrain after the storm.
Lowered water shut off at 310 State Street and moved water shut off at 445
Adams St. Assisted Ossola Co. on locating water mains on Brewster and Adams
Streets and moving water shut off at 445 Adams St. Took water samples two
times for boil orders. Confirmed pressure test on new main. International truck
has a couple fault codes. Diesel Exhaust fluid low-check engine. Talking with
dealer to see if it’s okay to drive to the mechanic.Expenses:Z milwaukee
batteries.Plans for next Month:Clean both lift stations,Jet Vac Drive tube on
North Galena. Prep equipment for winter storage.
Village Engineer Report:Village Engineer Jack Kusekupdated the Board on
the street repair work hopefully starting next week, the Environmental reports
have been submitted for the Water Tower Grant and could take three months to
hear back.

Online Bill Pay:The online bill pay total was $4,744.39for September.
Police Report:The Police Report showed 0 trafficstops, One 911 call and 7
security checks and 9 hours worked.
Water Report:Mayor Murray gave the water report as704,300 gallons of water
used, $8,856.00 water billed and $6,617.50 Sewer billed.
OLD BUSINESS:
Ordinances:
Ordinance # 0100824- Trustee Yepsen made a motion to adopt Ordinance
#0100824 that amends Title 16, Chapter 13 of the Village code regulating the
operation of non-highway vehicles on Village streets, seconded by Trustee Kline.
All ayes on a roll call vote.
Ordinance 0100924- Trustee Kline made a motion to amend Title 9, Chapter 3 of
the Village Code imposing penalties for unlawful burning of material in the Village
with fines being not less than $100.00 and not more than $750.00, seconded by
Trustee Cole. All ayes on a roll call vote.
Village Road Repairs:Mayor Murray stated we receivedtwo bids for the road
repairs. Trustee Yepsen made a motion to accept the bid of $42,190.00 from
Universal Asphalt from LaSalle, seconded by Trustee Acker. All ayes on a roll call
vote.
Village Planning Commision;Trustee Cole made a motionto accept the
following people for the planning commission: Randy Philhower, Jerry Murphy,
A.J. Egan, Trent Munson, Dwayne Proffit and Minnie Andriotis, seconded by
Trustee Funderberg. All ayes on a roll call vote.
NEW BUSINESS;
Fall Leaf Pickup with Hungry World Farms: The Village is partnering with Hungry
World Farms for free curbside leaf disposal on November 6th and November
20th. All leaves must be placed into paper yard leaf bags which can be picked up
at Zigs Station during normal operating hours. No other types of bags will be
accepted. We thank Hungry World Farm for giving us this safe alternative to
burning.
There being no further business, Trustee Funderberg made a motion to adjourn.
