MINUTES OF SPECIAL BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS MEETING CITY OF TOMBALL, TEXAS THURSDAY, JULY 9, 2015 6:00 P.M. 1.0 The meeting was called to order by Chairman John Ford at 6:01 p.m. Other members present were: Board Member Jarmon Wolfe Board Member Billy Hemby Board Member April Gray Alternate Board Member Tina Roquemore Board Member Brett Tynes – Excused Absence Others present: Community Development Director – Craig Meyers City Engineer – Lori Lakatos City Planner – Harold Ellis Assistant City Planner – Amelia Vasquez City Attorney – Loren Smith 2.0 No Public Comments were received. 3.0 Community Development Director, Craig Meyers, announced Amelia Vasquez as the new Assistant City Planner. 4.0 Motion was made by Board Member Hemby, second by Board Member Wolfe, to approve the Minutes of Special Board of Adjustments Meeting of April 9, 2015. Motion carried unanimously. 5.0 New Business: 5.1 Consideration to approve BOA Case P15-074: Request by Grande Tamales LLC to reverse, affirm, or modify, in whole or in part, an administrative official's decision regarding the establishment of an “Auto Wrecker Service” and “Auto Repair (Major)” land use at 509 Clarence Street, Tomball, Texas. The Public Hearing on BOA Case P15-074 was opened by Chair Ford at 6:03 p.m. City Planner, Harold Ellis, presented the case.  Minutes Special Board of Adjustments Meeting July 9, 2015 Page 2 of 2 Kevin M. Jones (506 N. Pine St., Tomball, TX) spoke on behalf of the case. Denise Miller (518 Clarence St.) spoke against the applicant’s appeal. Mary Harvey (405 S. Walnut St.) spoke against the applicant’s appeal. Shirley Meyer (508 Clarence St.) spoke against the applicant’s appeal. Mark Miller (518 Clarence St.) spoke against the applicant’s appeal. Johnny Dove (110 Anna St.) spoke against the applicant’s appeal. Samantha Heard (212 S. Pine St.) spoke against the applicant’s appeal. The public hearing was closed at 6:32 p.m. Motion was made by Board Member Hemby, second by Board Member Gray, to affirm the decision of the administrative official. Vote was as follows: Chairman Ford Aye Board Member Wolfe Aye Board Member Hemby Aye Board Member Roquemore Aye Board Member Gray Aye Motion carried unanimously; 5 votes Aye, 0 votes Nay. 6.0 The meeting was adjourned at 6:49 p.m. PASSED AND APPROVED this 13th day of August 2015.
