MINUTES OF SPECIAL BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS MEETING CITY OF TOMBALL, TEXAS THURSDAY, MAY 12, 2016 6:00 P.M. 1.0 The meeting was called to order by Vice Chairman Brett Tynes at 6:00 p.m. Other members present were: Board Member Jarmon Wolfe Board Member Bill Hemby Board Member April Gray Alternate Board Member Christine Roquemore Chairman John Ford – Absent Others present: Community Development Director – Craig Meyers Assistant City Planner – Amelia Lindley City Attorney – Loren Smith 2.0 Kelly Violette (29201 Quinn Rd. Unit B, Tomball, TX 77375), Director of the Tomball Economic Development Corporation and property owner of the Tomball Business & Technology Park, spoke in favor of item 5.1. 3.0 Amelia Lindley, Assistant City Planner, announced John Ford’s decision to not be reappointed to the Board and Michele Beauvais’s decision to not be reappointed as an alternate for the Board. 4.0 Motion was made by Board Member Hemby, second by Board Member Gray, to approve the Minutes of Special Board of Adjustments Meeting of December 10, 2015. Motion carried unanimously. 5.0 New Business: 5.1 Consideration to Approve Zoning Case P16-0050: Request by Brad Gildea for a special exception from Section 50-82(b) of the Code of Ordinances to allow 80 off- street parking where 125 are required, for a proposed “Scientific and Industrial Research Laboratory (nonhazardous)”. The project site is approximately 5.502 acres, generally located at the northwest corner of Spell Road and Hufsmith-Kohrville Road, is zoned Light Industrial and legally described as a portion of Lot 2, Tomball Business and Technology Park.  Minutes Special Board of Adjustments Meeting May 12, 2016 Page 2 of 2 The Public Hearing was opened by Vice Chairman Tynes at 6:04 p.m. Amelia Lindley, Assistant City Planner, presented the staff report and recommendation. David Green (8126 Little Scarlet Street, Conroe, TX 77385), a representative for the applicant, spoke on behalf of the case. Hearing no public comments, the Public Hearing was closed at 6:10 p.m. Motion was made by Board Member Hemby, second by Board Member Gray, to approve BOA CASE P16-0050, with the conditions recommended by City Staff. Vote was as follows: Vice Chairman Tynes Aye Board Member Jarmon Wolfe Aye Board Member Bill Hemby Aye Board Member April Gray Aye Alternate Board Member Christine Roquemore Aye Motion carried; 5 votes Aye and 0 votes Nay. 6.0 Motion was made by Board Member Hemby, second by Alternate Board Member Roquemore, to adjourn.
