SPECIAL BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS MEETING
CITY OF TOMBALL, TEXAS
THURSDAY, JUNE 16, 2016
6:00 P.M.
1.0 The meeting was called to order by Vice Chairman Brett Tynes at 6:01 p.m. Other members
present were:
Board Member Jarmon Wolfe
Board Member Bill Hemby
Board Member April Gray
Alternate Board Member Christine Roquemore
Chairman John Ford – Absent
Others present:
Community Development Director – Craig Meyers
City Planner – Harold Ellis
Assistant City Planner – Amelia Lindley

2.0 No Public Comments were received.
3.0 No Reports or Announcements were heard.
4.0 Motion was made by Board Member Hemby, second by Board Member Gray, to approve the
Minutes of Special Board of Adjustments Meeting of May 12, 2016.
Motion carried unanimously.
5.0 New Business:
5.1 Consideration to approve BOA Case P16-0066: Request by Christopher Wohrer, on
behalf of Moffett Productions, for a special exception from Section 50-31
(Nonconforming uses and structures) of the Code of Ordinances to allow the
expansion of a nonconforming use and structure and a special exception from Section
50-82(b) (Use Charts) to allow for a reduction in the parking ratio requirement. The
project site is approximately .32 acres, generally located on the south side of Clarence
Street, between Pine Street and Magnolia Street at 509 Clarence Street, is zoned
Single-Family 6 District and is legally described as Lots 35, 36, 37 & 38, Block 37
Tomball.

Amelia Lindley, Assistant City Planner, presented the staff report and
recommendation.
Applicant, Christopher Wohrer (3411 Blue Cypress, Spring, TX 77388) spoke on
behalf of the case.
The Public Hearing was opened by Vice Chairman Tynes at 6:04 p.m.
Boyd Martin, Resident (507 Clarence St., Tomball, TX 77375) spoke in Support of
the request.
Amy Varon, Resident (504 Percival St., Tomball, TX 77375) spoke in Support of the
request.
Denise Miller, Resident (518 Clarence St., Tomball, TX 77375) spoke in Support of
the request.
Hearing no additional comments, the Public Hearing was closed at 6:21 p.m.
Motion was made by Board Member Wolfe, second by Board Member Roquemore,
to approve BOA Case P16-0066, with conditions. Vote was as follows:

Motion carried unanimously.
6.0 Motion was made by Board Member Hemby, second by Board Member Gray, to adjourn.

Notice is hereby given of a meeting of the Board of Adjustments, to be held on Thursday, June
16, 2016 at 6:00 p.m., at City Hall, 401 Market Street, Tomball, Texas 77375, for the purpose of
considering the following agenda items. All agenda items are subject to action. The Board of
Adjustments reserve the right to meet in a closed session for consultation with attorney on any
agenda item should the need arise and if applicable pursuant to authorization by Title 5,
Chapter 551, of the Texas Government Code.
1.0 Call to Order
2.0 Public Comments and Receipt of Petitions (At this time, anyone will be allowed to speak on
any matter other than personnel matters or matters under litigation, for length of time not to
exceed three minutes. No Board discussion or action may take place on a matter until such
matter has been placed on an agenda and posted in accordance with law.)
