MINUTES OF SPECIAL BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS MEETING CITY OF TOMBALL, TEXAS THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 2016 6:00 P.M. 1.0 The meeting was called to order by Vice Chairman Brett Tynes at 6:00 p.m. Other members present were: Board Member Bill Hemby Board Member April Gray Board Member Christine Roquemore Alternate Board Member Robert Maxwell Board Member Jarmon Wolfe - Absent Others present: Community Development Director/City Engineer – Craig Meyers Assistant City Planner – Amelia Lindley City Attorney – Loren Smith Community Development Coordinator – Kim Chandler 1.1 Election of Chairman and Vice Chairman Vice Chairman Tynes requested nominations for Chairman. Board Member Hemby nominated Vice Chairman Tynes for Chairman. Motion was made by Board Member Hemby, second by Board Member Roquemore, to appoint Vice Chairman Tynes as Chairman. Motion carried unanimously. Chairman Tynes requested nominations for Vice Chairman. Chairman Tynes nominated Board Member Hemby for Vice Chairman. Motion was made by Chairman Tynes, second by Board Member Roquemore, to appoint Board Member Hemby as Vice Chairman. Motion carried unanimously.  Minutes Special Board of Adjustments Meeting November 10, 2016 Page 2 of 3 2.0 No Public Comments were received. 3.0 Amelia Lindley, Assistant City Planner, announced the following:  Special Board of Adjustments is looking for 2 alternate Board Members.  There will be a Special Board of Adjustments meeting on Thursday, December 8, 2016. Craig Meyers, Community Development Director/City Engineer, announced the following:  Harold Ellis is no longer with the City of Tomball. He has accepted a position in the Virginia-D.C. area. 4.0 Motion was made by Vice Chairman Hemby, second by Board Member Gray, to approve the Minutes of Special Board of Adjustments Meeting of June 16, 2016. Motion carried unanimously. 5.0 New Business: 5.1 Consideration to approve BOA Case P16-0153: Request by Rick Gatewood for a variance from Section 50-77(d) (Area Regulations) and for a special exception from Section 50-82(b) (Use Charts) of the Code of Ordinances to allow a reduction in the required off-street parking. The project site is approximately 0.67 acres, generally located at the southeast corner of Village Square Drive and Holderrieth Boulevard., at 825, 827 & 831 Village Square Drive, is zoned Commercial and legally described as Reserve G1, Block 4 Tomball Village Square Replat. The Public Hearing was opened by Chairman Tynes at 6:04 p.m. Amelia Lindley, Assistant City Planner, presented the staff report and recommendation of approval with the contingency that a cross parking agreement be executed by the property owners. Richard Gatewood, Applicant (22725 Tomball Cemetery Rd., Tomball, TX 77377) spoke in support of the request. Hearing no additional comments, the Public Hearing was closed at 6:10 p.m. Motion was made by Vice Chairman Hemby, second by Alternate Board Member Maxwell, to approve BOA Case P16-0153, with contingency.
