SPECIAL BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS MEETING
CITY OF TOMBALL, TEXAS
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 2017
6:00 P.M.
1.0 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Brett Tynes at 6:00 p.m. Other members
present were:
Board Member Billy Hemby
Board Member April Gray
Board Member Christine Roquemore
Board Member Jarmon Wolfe
Others present:
Community Development Director/City Engineer – Craig Meyers
Assistant City Planner – Amelia Lindley
City Attorney – Loren Smith
Community Development Coordinator – Kim Chandler
2.0 No Public Comments were received.
3.0 Amelia Lindley, Assistant City Planner, announced Re-Appointments for Board of
Adjustments Members: Brett Tynes, Jarmon Wolfe, Billy Hemby, Rocky Pilgrim, Rob
Maxwell.
4.0 Motion was made by Board Member Gray, second by Board Member Roquemore, to
approve the Minutes of Special Board of Adjustments Meeting of January 12, 2017.
Motion carried unanimously.
5.0 New Business:
5.1 Consideration to approve BOA Case P16-0190: Request by Duane Cannon, on behalf
of D-S Lawn and Automotive, for a special exception from Section 50-82(b) of the
Code of Ordinances to allow no off-street parking where 10 are required, for a
proposed expansion of an auto repair (minor) facility. The project site is
approximately 0.33 acres, generally located at the northwest corner of Malone Street
and Poplar Street, is zoned Old Town and Mixed Use and legally described as Lots 1,
19 & 20, Block 97 Tomball Townsite.
The Public Hearing on was opened by Chairman Tynes at 6:02 p.m.

Amelia Lindley, Assistant City Planner, presented the staff report and
recommendation of approval.
David McClinton – Owner, (703 W. Main St., Tomball, Texas 77375) spoke on
behalf of the request.
Seth Hough – Maco Construction, (1718 Humble Place Drive, Humble, TX 77338)
spoke on behalf of the request.
Hearing no additional comments, The Public Hearing was closed at 6:07 p.m.
Motion was made by Board Member Hemby, second by Board Member Wolfe, to
approve BOA Case P16-0190 recommended by Staff. Vote was as follows:

Motion carried unanimously.
6.0 Motion was made by Board Member Roquemore, second by Board Member Hemby, to

Motion carried unanimously.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:11 p.m.

Notice is hereby given of a meeting of the Board of Adjustments, to be held on Thursday,
February 9, 2017 at 6:00 p.m., at City Hall, 401 Market Street, Tomball, Texas 77375, for the
purpose of considering the following agenda items. All agenda items are subject to action. The
Board of Adjustments reserve the right to meet in a closed session for consultation with
attorney on any agenda item should the need arise and if applicable pursuant to authorization
by Title 5, Chapter 551, of the Texas Government Code.
1.0 Call to Order
2.0 Public Comments and Receipt of Petitions (At this time, anyone will be allowed to speak on
any matter other than personnel matters or matters under litigation, for length of time not to
exceed three minutes. No Board discussion or action may take place on a matter until such
matter has been placed on an agenda and posted in accordance with law.)
