MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL AND TOMBALL PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION MEETING CITY OF TOMBALL, TEXAS MONDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2011 5:00 P.M. 1.0 Call to Order The Council meeting was called to order by Mayor Gretchen Fagan. Other members present were: Councilman Quinn Councilman Stoll Councilman Brown Councilman Townsend Councilman Dodson The Planning and Zoning Commission meeting was called to order by Vice Chair Tom Crofoot. Other members present were: Vice Chair – Tom Crofoot Commissioner – Field Hudgens Commissioner – Barbara Tague Members absent: Chair – Lori Wallace Commissioner – John Mottershaw Others present: City Manager – George Shackelford Assistant City Manager – Christal Kliewer City Secretary – Doris Speer City Attorney – Scott Bounds Assistant to the City Manager – Shawn Cox City Planner – Kelly Violette  Minutes Special Joint City Council and Planning & Zoning Commission Meeting February 7, 2011 Page 2 of 2 Assistant City Engineer – Lori Lakatos Assistant City Planner - Rodney Schmidt Building Official – David Allen Fire Marshal – Doug Sanguedolce Fire Inspector – Tommy Nicholson E&P Administrative Assistant – Brandy Pate 2.0 No public comments were received. 3.0 Workshop Session: 3.1 The Tomball City Council and the Tomball Planning and Zoning Commission members entered into a Workshop session for the following purposes: A. Discussion of Possible Changes to the Zoning Ordinance Kelly Violette presented City-staff proposed revisions to the zoning ordinance. Council requested information regarding the major thoroughfare plan with regard to masonry façade requirements along the major thoroughfares, information regarding proposed façade standards for multi-family and residential homes, minimum material requirements for construction, possible site plans and screening requirements for dumpsters and multi-family complexes, retention and detention ponds, landscaping requirements, outbuildings, accessory structures, and tree preservation sections of the current ordinance. City staff will incorporate suggested revisions and present an update to the City Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission at a special meeting on February 21, 2011 at 4:30 p.m. 4.0 Motion was made by Councilman Stoll, second by Councilman Townsend, to adjourn.
