NOTICE OF REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING CITY OF TOMBALL, TEXAS MONDAY, JUNE 1, 2020 6:00 P.M. IN ACCORDANCE WITH ORDER OF THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR ISSUED MARCH 16, 2020, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TOMBALL, TEXAS, WILL CONDUCT THE MEETING SCHEDULED FOR JUNE 1, 2020, 6:00 P.M., AT 401 MARKET STREET, TOMBALL, TEXAS, 77375. IN ORDER TO ADVANCE THE PUBLIC HEALTH GOAL OF LIMITING FACE-TO-FACE MEETINGS (ALSO CALLED “SOCIAL DISTANCING”) TO SLOW THE SPREAD OF THE CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19), THERE WILL BE LIMITED PUBLIC ACCESS TO THE LOCATION DESCRIBED ABOVE. No Council/Board discussion or action may take place on a matter until such matter has been placed on an agenda and posted in accordance with law - GC, 551.042.] 5.0 Reports and Announcements: • Tomball City Pool – 2020 Swim Season - Jerry Matheson Park Pool will reopen on June 2 and will operate with normal hours through August 16. The pool will be open on Saturday and Sunday only on the weekends of August 22-23 and August 29-30. The pool will be closed every Monday during swim season 2020, except July 4th, and Labor Day (September 7). Normal pool hours are: Tuesday – Friday: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday & Sunday: 12 p.m.-8 p.m. • TOMBALL KID'S CLUB – Activities: June 23, 25, 30 and July 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, and 30 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at Juergens Park • June 27, 2020 – Beat the Heat at the Depot – a Swim Safe Forever Northwest Houston Chapter Event • July 4, 2020 – July Fourth Fireworks Display – FM 2920 at SH 249, 9:30 p.m.; Musical Presentation on FM 95.3 beginning at 8:30 p.m. • July 11, 2020 – 2nd Saturday at the Depot – Movie Only, beginning at 8:30 p.m. • Reports by City staff and members of council about items of community interest on which no action will be taken: 6.0 Approve the Minutes of the May 18, 2020 Regular Tomball City Council Meeting 7.0 New Business: 7.1 Approve Resolution No. 2020-14, a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Tomball, Texas, Supporting the 48th Annual Tomball Night and Parade, to be Held in Tomball on Friday, August 7, 2020 7.2 Appoint/Reappoint Members to the Planning and Zoning Commission, Positions 2 and 5, for new terms expiring June 1, 2023 7.3 Approve Resale Deed for Property acquired by Foreclosure Tax Sale in Cause No. 1998-27999, styled City of Tomball vs. City of Tomball, HCAD Account No. 035- 281-004-0019, to Jeremy Langston, in the Amount of $5,290.61 7.4 Executive Session: The City Council will meet in Executive Session as Authorized by Title 5, Chapter 551, Government Code, the Texas Open Meetings Act, for the Following Purpose(s):  Agenda Regular City Council Meeting June 1, 2020 Page 3 of 3 ᵒ Sec. 551.074 – Personnel Matters: Deliberation of the Appointment, Employment, and Duties of a Public Officer or Employee, to wit: Chief of Police. 7.5 Consideration and Possible Action on the Employment and Appointment of Jeffrey Bert as Chief of Police by the City Manager, Pursuant to Section 7.03 of the City Charter 8.0 Adjournment CERTIFICATION I hereby certify that the above notice of meeting was posted on the bulletin board of City Hall, City of Tomball, Texas, a place readily accessible to the general public at all times, on the 28th day of May 2020 by 5:00 p.m., and remained posted for at least 72 continuous hours preceding the scheduled time of said meeting.
