MINUTES OF REGULAR
TOURISM ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING
CITY OF TOMBALL, TEXAS
MONDAY, JULY 30, 2013
6:00 P.M.
1.0 Call to Order
The meeting was called to order by Chair Holly Cook. Other Committee members
present were:

City Manager – George Shackelford
Marketing Director – Mike Baxter

2.0 No Public Comments were received.
3.0 Reports and Announcements
Mike Baxter, Marketing Director, presented information regarding Success of Recent Events,
ongoing activities, and our award entries for the upcoming Conference of the Texas Festivals and
Events Association.

4.0 Motion was made by Jeffie Cappadonna, second by Mary Harvey, to approve the minutes
of the January 28, 2013 Regular Tourism Advisory Committee Meeting.
Motion carried unanimously.
5.0 New Business
5.1 Motion to amend was made by Mary Harvey, second by Rodney Hutson to accept the
council approved budget amount of $65,000 for both festivals for Tomball Sister City
Organization Request for Support, Funding, and Road Closures, in the amount of $35,000
for the 2013 Tomball German Christmas Market, to be held December 12-15, 2013, and
in the amount of $35,000 for the 2014 Tomball German Heritage Festival, to be held
March 27-30, 2014.
Motion carried unanimously.
5.3 Motion was made by Ron Tocci and second by Prakash Patel to table consideration and
possible action regarding Spring Creek County Historical Association Request for
$40,000 fiscal budget for 2013-2014 Annual Operations until October 2013 meeting
carried unanimously.
6.0 Motion was made by Jeffie Cappadonna, second by Rodney Hutson, to adjourn.
Motion carried unanimously.
Meeting adjourned.

Notice is hereby given of a meeting of the City of Tomball Tourism Advisory Committee, to be
held on Monday, July 30, 2013 at 6:00 p.m., City Hall, 401 Market Street, Tomball, Texas 77375,
for the purpose of considering the following agenda items. All agenda items are subject to action.
The Tomball Tourism Advisory Committee reserves the right to meet in a closed session for
consultation with attorney on any agenda item should the need arise and if applicable pursuant to
authorization by Title 5, Chapter 551, of the Texas Government Code.
1.0 Call to Order
2.0 Public Comments and Receipt of Petitions (At this time, anyone will be allowed to speak on any
matter other than personnel matters or matters under litigation, for length of time not to exceed
three minutes. No Commission discussion or action may take place on a matter until such matter
has been placed on an agenda and posted in accordance with law.)

• Update by Mike Baxter, Marketing Director, regarding Success of Recent Events, ongoing
