MINUTES OF REGULAR TOURISM ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING CITY OF TOMBALL, TEXAS TUESDAY, JANUARY 27, 2015 6:00 P.M. 1.0 The meeting was called to order by Chair Holly Cook. Other Committee members present were: Ronald Tocci Mary Harvey Jeffie Cappadonna Steve Hughes Prakash Patel Rodney Hutson Laura Wilson Members absent: Kevin Lala Others present: City Manager – George Shackelford Marketing Director – Mike Baxter Community Event Coordinator – Denise Neef-Fiore Assistant City Secretary – Betsy Gates 2.0 No Public Comments were received. 3.0 Reports and Announcements Mike Baxter, Marketing Director, presented information regarding Upcoming Events, ongoing activities, and Schedule of Events for 2015. 4.0 Motion was made by Jeffie Cappadonna, second by Mary Harvey, to approve the minutes of the July 15, 2014 Tourism Advisory Committee Meeting. Minutes Regular Tourism Advisory Committee January 27, 2015 Page 2 of 2 Motion carried unanimously. 5.0 New Business: 5.1 Consideration was given by the Committee regarding Request by The Regional Arts Council (TRAC) for Financial Support for Six Performances of "The Nutcracker" Ballet, previously held December 5 - 7, 2014 at the Tomball High School Auditorium, in the Amount of $15,400. Motion was made by Mary Harvey, second by Jeffie Cappadonna to deny approval of the request for $15,400. The vote was as follows: Committee Member Ronald Tocci Aye Committee Member Mary Harvey Aye Committee Member Jeffie Cappadonna Aye Committee Member Steve Hughes Aye Committee Member Prakash Patel Aye Committee Member Rodney Hutson Nay Committee Member Laura Wilson Nay Motion to DENY carried, 6 votes Aye and 2 votes Nay. Consensus of the Board was unanimous to recommend that TRAC prepare a complete presentation including a Proposal and Application for the July 28, 2015 and provide the information in person to the Board and be available to answer any questions presented by the Board at the July 28, 2015 meeting. 5.0 Motion was made by Jeffie Cappadonna, second by Ron Tocci, to adjourn.
