MINUTES TOWN COUNCIL MEETING February 25, 2019 The Town Council meeting was called to order by Ron Troyer at 4:07 p.m. February 25, 2019 with the following persons present: Ron Troyer Ray Folk Carl Stoltz Naomi Mi ller Stewart Bender Adam Lambright Stan Strater Minutes Ray moved that the minutes for the last council meeting be approved. Carl seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. Clerk-Treasurer The board approved the claims as read. Ray made the motion, Carl seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. Town Manager Ron Troyer made a motion to appoint Stewart Bender to the Region 3A board. Pete made a motion to accept this appointment, Ray seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. Stewart requested to table the pond maintenance and fountain until the March 11 th Town Council and Redevelopment Commission m eeting. A letter from Mr. Freeman with Country Squire Estates was received and shared with council and attorney pertaining to their recent water/ sewer bill during the cold snap. Stewart and Bill will get together and respond to the letter. Fire Department Stewart would like to offer the SCBA packs to another Fire Department in need for $1. This would be for 23 packs. Pete made a motion to accept this offer, Ray seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. Police Department The council was emailed the January 2019 Activity Reports. Why Teens Kill training seminar is April 3 rd for $125/officer. A request is made to allow the 3 police officers to attend this seminar. Pete made a motion for all three to attend, Ray seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. Ed Flowers resume' was shared with the council. Ray made a motion to hire Ed based on Stan's recommendation. Pete seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. Stan requested to allow himself and Cory to be a police presence at the sectional game. Ray made a motion to allow them to cover the game. Carl seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. Next Meeting The next Town Council meeting will be held at Topeka Town Hall on March 11, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. There being no other business to be brought before the Board the meeting was adjourned at 4:27 pm.
