MINUTES TOWN COUNCIL MEETING April 22, 2019 The Town Council meeting was called to order by Ron Troyer at 4:00 p.m. April 22, 2019 with the following persons present: Ron Troyer Ray Folk Carl Stoltz Pete Kaufman Stewart Bender Naomi Miller Cyndi Sadewasser Stan Strater, Jr. Dennis Wingard Joshua Hostetler Carol Sisney Darrion Thornburgh Kenneth Overton, Jr. Minutes Pete moved that the minutes for the last council meeting be approved. Ray seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. Clerk-Treasurer The board approved the claims as read. Pete made the motion, Ray seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. Town Manager Stewart Bender presented the council with the documentation from the County approval the Topeka Fire Department Plat. Ray made a motion to accept the plat, Carl seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. The Town Manager presented Ruth Yoder, Flower Lady, resignation. Ray made a motion to accept Ruth Yoder's resignation; Pete seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. Scott Koegler's resignation was given for the Street Superintendent. His last day is May 3, 2019. Ray made a motion to accept Scott's resignation; Pete seconded the motion and it carried unanimously . Council recommended advertising for the position. The John Deere steer tires needs replaced. Two quotes were offered, Zolman' s Fleet Services for $960 and Tire Star for $917. Ray made a motion to accept Tire Star's quote for $917, Carl seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. An update was given on the Wastewater plant.  Police Department Marshal Strater presented the February monthly reports. Town Attorney Bill Eberhard presented council with an Interlocal Agreement for the Town of Shipshewana Fire Department to purchase turnout gear for a female fire fighter that has transferred to Shipshewana Fire Department for $2500. Ray made a motion to approve the Interlocal Agreement, Pete seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. Other Pete let everyone know that Saturday, April 27th at 4pm is the Topeka Fire Department Fish Fry. Next Meeting The next Town Council meeting will be held at Topeka Town Hall on May 13, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. There being no other business to be brought before the Board the meeting was adjourned at 4:30 pm.
