PR021-16 Introduction of Appointees to the Trotwood Charter Review Commission for 2016 by Councilman Rap Hankins Councilman Hankins to introduce the new eight (8) volunteer members, they are: Elder Norman Scearce III, Denise Moore, Cynthia Monie in attendance tonight. The role of these core members is for them to review and update the 2012 City Charter. The draft will be presented to Trotwood City Council for discussion at a workshop meeting. President Jay Young introduced Mr. Fred Burkhardt as the new Executive Director of the Trotwood Community Development Corporation. The new board is now in place to move forward with projects. City Manager said this agreement with the Ohio Department of Transportation to perform culvert repairs on various location along US35. ODOT will provide the Federal-aid and State funds for the financing of this improvement allocated by the Federal HIghway Administration, U.S. Department of Transportation. Mr. Eric Baxter Public Works Operations Manager indicated the first culvert repair is located at the intersection of ST. RT. 49 next to Lowe's doing routine maintenance to the headwall and liner to eliminate the deterioration of the soil. Another culvert, at intersection at St. Rt. 35 & Olive Road will also be cleaned. Human Resource Manger Stephanie Kellum explained, this new resolution is for the Collective Bargaining agreement between the City and the Police Sergeants which has expired. The agreement is for the period between January 1, 2016 through December 31, 2018 with adjustment's throughout. There are no wage increases in salary nor with the benefits. Mayor McDonald requested a motion to approve the Resolution R16-32. A motion was made by Vice Mayor Gales and seconded by Mr. Hankins to approve. Old & New Business a. Mayor: 1) To schedule an appointment with the Mayor, contact Sandy Riege Fuller, Clerk of Council at 937/854-7212 between the hours of 8 am - 5 p.m.; 2) Trotwood City Council workshop meeting will be held on Monday, April 18, 2016; and 3) Trotwood-Madison City School Board of Education will hold a work session on Thursday, April 7 and next regular meeting will be on thursday, April 21, 2016. Mayor McDonald wanted to thank our State Representative Jeff Rezabeck for the meeting held at Friendship Village to bring us information on the State of Ohio new 'The Healthy Food for Ohio' program. This program is a public-private partnership that provides loans, forgivable loans and grants to food retailers developing new or existing fresh food retail in underserved communities throughout Ohio. This program can assist anyone who wants to bring to healthy food to our city by way of farmers markets, grocery stores, etc. to start up their initiative. This program is a state program for areas located in what is called 'food deserts'. For those interested, go the their web site for more information or contact the city offices. b. City Manager: Reminder to visit the City of Trotwood web site at www.trotwood.org for updated information and events in our city. Council Members Councilman Hankins reported there was a great turn out at the Easter Egg hunt. Vice Mayor Gales reported - Monday evening the Broadmoor One Neighborhood Watch group will meet at 6:30 at the Trotwood Library. Mrs. Finley thanked everyone for attending our meeting tonight. Mr. Vaughn reported the Hillside Neighborhood Watch group will meet at the Brethren Church at 7 p.m. next Tuesday.
