AGENDA COMMITTEE ON AGING December 18, 2019, 12 Noon Tulare Senior Community Center Bill Thompson Room 201 NORTH “F” STREET MISSION STATEMENT TO PROMOTE A COMMUNITY MAKING TULARE THE MOST DESIRABLE PLACE TO LIVE, LEARN, PLAY, WORK, WORSHIP AND PROSPER I. CALL TO ORDER II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE III. CITIZEN COMMENTS This is the time for citizens to comment on items within the jurisdiction of the Board. The Board cannot legally discuss or take official action on citizen comments that are introduced today. Each speaker will be allowed three minutes, with a maximum time of 10 minutes per item, unless otherwise extended by the Board. IV. COMMUNICATIONS Communications are to be submitted 10 days prior to a meeting to be considered for this section of the Agenda. No action will be taken on matters listed under communications; however, the Board may direct staff to schedule issues raised during communications for a future agenda. Citizen comments will be limited to three minutes, per topic, unless otherwise extended by the Board. V. CONSENT CALENDAR: All Consent Calendar Items are considered routine and will be enacted in one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these matters unless a request is made, in which event the item will be removed from the Consent Calendar to be discussed and voted upon by a separate motion. (1). MINUTES Approve Committee minutes of October 16, 2019. SCHEDULED CITIZEN OR GROUP PRESENTATIONS VI. GENERAL BUSINESS (1). NUTRITION a. Nutrition Report. These reports cover congregate and home delivered (hot and frozen) meal participation for the months of October & November 2019. (2). RECREATION-COMMUNITY SERVICES a. Recreation Report. These reports cover recreational activities and participation for the months of October & November 2019. (1) Trips- 2020 (2) Special Events – Past events: Halloween Bash, October 31. Preparing for 10th Annual Veterans Day Luncheon, Tuesday November 5th, sponsored by Tulare Cabrillo Club & Family Healthcare Network; Thanksgiving Dinner/Luncheon, Friday November 15th, sponsored by Quail Park. Upcoming events: the annual Christmas Party Luncheon, Friday December 20th,sponsored by Tulare Cabrillo Club & Family Healthcare Network; in January is Superbowl Luncheon and in February the annual Volunteer Recognition Ceremony & Luncheon. (3) Classes & Activities (3). TULARE SENIOR SERVICES, INC. (TSS) VII. OLD BUSINESS (1). Council meeting Presentation, November 5th - Recap VIII. NEW BUSINESS (1). Private Business Social Work Agencies -Example Optimal Hospice – Requests for Meals on Wheels – Discussion (2). AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Purchase $800 between Tulare Senior Services and City of Tulare – location would be in lobby of senior center - Information (3).
