ACTION MINUTES OF TULARE
MEASURE I CITIZEN OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE, CITY OF TULARE
October 23, 2017
A meeting of the Measure I Citizen Oversight Committee was held on Monday,
October 23, 2017, at 5:30 p.m., in the Community Room, City Hall, 411 East Kern
Avenue, Tulare, CA 93274
Committee Member Richard Dituri, Teleconference Location, 357 Buttonwood,
Tulare, CA 93274
MEMBERS PRESENT: Maria Grijalva, Nick Ferreira, Michelle Rowsey
MEMBERS BY TELECONFERENCE: Richard Dituri
MEMBERS ABSENT: Wayne Ross
STAFF PRESENT: Darlene Thompson, Roxanne Yoder
MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC: Steve Bonville, Jose Sigala
I. CALL TO ORDER MEETING
Chief Deputy City Clerk Roxanne Yoder called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
II. CITIZEN COMMENTS
Ms. Yoder advised that comments from the public are limited to items listed on the
agenda (GC 54954.3a). Speakers will be allowed three minutes. Please begin your
comments by stating and spelling your name and providing your city of residence.
III. General discussion, and questions and answers
(1) Introduction of committee members. The Committee Members
introduced themselves, provided relevant background and why they wanted
to serve on this committee.
(2) Review Background Information and Committee Guidelines. Finance
Director Darlene Thompson background information on the Measure,
Guidelines, as well as Audit Process and addressed any questions of the
Committee.
(3) Nomination and selection of Chair and Vice Chair. Member Grijalva
nominated Member Ferreira to serve as chair, this was seconded by
Member Rowsey and carried 4 to 0 (Member Ross absent) to approve.
Member Dituri nominated himself to serve as vice-chair, this was seconded
by Member Ferreira and carried 4 to 0 (Member Ross absent) to approve.
(4) Review of Measure I Fund.
(5) Audit Process.
(6) Next meeting. Ms. Thompson advised that she would notify the Committee
as soon as the next meeting date is scheduled.
IV. ADJOURN MEETING
Member Ferreira adjourned the special meeting to order at 5:54 p.m.
