MEETING MINUTES BARNES LAKE MANAGEMENT DISTRICT May 13, 2026 CONVENE: 6:00 p.m. PRESENT: Chair Linnea Madison, Committee Members Sharie McCafferty, Carissa Parvin, Rusty Weaver, Dana Day, Troy Patience, Jody Keys, Lalani Shelton, and Matthew Brownell Staff: Water Resources Specialist Dave Kangiser APPROVAL OF Member Patience moved, seconded by Member Weaver to MINUTES: approve the meeting minutes of March 4, 2026, as amended. A voice vote approved the motion unanimously. PUBLIC COMMENT: No public comment. MEMBER COMMENT: A member commented that vegetation clippings were being left at 1226 Lake Park Dr. Specialist Kangiser referred them to the Community Development Department at City Hall for follow up. 2025 WORK PLAN Specialist Kangiser reviewed the 2026 Work Plan. REVIEW: 2025 BUDGET The budget was reviewed by Specialist Kangiser. No new REVIEW: spending has occurred in 2026. LAKE LEVELS AND The data shows water temperatures are nearing about 60 TEMPERATURE: degrees. This is the temperature range that aquatic plants begin to emerge. MUCK BIOTIC Aquatechnex submitted an estimate for a Muck Biotic DISCUSSION: application for the 2026 treatment year. Muck Biotic is a bacteria treatment that consumes organic material at the bottom of the lake. The steering committee decided not to move forward with BARNES LAKE MANAGEMENT DISTRICT- MAY 13, 2026 1  the application due to cost and lack of available staff at Aquatechnex to monitor the results of the treatment.
