MEETING MINUTES TUMWATER PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION February 18, 2026 CONVENE: 7:00 p.m. PRESENT: Chair Erin Carrier and Commissioners Mike Culley, Joe Munro, Shane Harrington, Joel Hecker, Amy Hargrove, and Charlie Schneider. Staff: Parks & Recreation Director Chuck Denney, Recreation Manager Todd Anderson, Golf Operations Supervisor Russ Olsen, and Parks Manager Matt Patton. CHANGES TO THE No changes to the Agenda. AGENDA: APPROVAL OF Commissioner Culley moved, seconded by Commissioner MINUTES: Schneider, to approve the minutes of October 15, 2025, as amended. A voice vote approved the motion unanimously. PUBLIC COMMENT: No public comment. RECREATION Director Denney updated the Commission on the future DIVISION UPDATE: purchase of the Tumwater Valley Lodge for the permanent location of the Parks & Recreation office and the funding sources dedicated to the purchase. Manager Anderson updated the Commission on the 2026 Calendar of Events planned by the department for the upcoming year. 2025/2026 PARK Manager Patton updated the Commission on park projects that PROJECTS: were completed in 2025 and what projects are planned for 2026. TUMWATER PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION – FEBRUARY 18, 2026 1 2026 PARKS, Director Denney gave a brief update on the status of the 2026 RECREATION AND Parks, Recreation and Open Space Plan and what future OPEN SPACE PLAN involvement the Commission will have. UPDATE: TUMWATER VALLEY Operations Supervisor Olsen updated the Commission on the GOLF COURSE Tumwater Valley Golf Course operations and event highlights for UPDATE: 2025. Discussion included a summary of events, participation numbers, budgets, revenue successes, and planned activities through 2026. NEXT MEETING DATE: The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
