MEETING MINUTES
TUMWATER PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION
October 15, 2025
CONVENE: 7 p.m.
PRESENT: Chair Erin Carrier and Commissioners Mike Culley, Joe Munro,
Shane Harrington, Joel Hecker, Amy Hargrove, and Charlie
Schneider.
Staff: Parks & Recreation Director Chuck Denney and Recreation
Manager Todd Anderson
CHANGES TO THE No changes to the Agenda.
AGENDA:
APPROVAL OF Commissioner Culley moved, seconded by Commissioner
MINUTES: Hecker, to approve the minutes of March 19, 2025 as
amended. A voice vote approved the motion unanimously.
PUBLIC COMMENT: No public comment.
2025/2026 PARK Director Denney updated the Commission on department
PROJECTS: projects, timelines, and status. Projects included the status of
Tumwater’s Historic Homes, the Deschutes Valley Trail
construction, Isabella Bush Park farm, Trails End Park and
Community Center planning. Improvement projects at Pioneer
Park, Historical Park, Tumwater Hill Park, and Coralie Carlyon
Park were also discussed.
RECREATION Manager Anderson updated the Commission on programs,
DIVISION UPDATE: events, and planning for 2025 and 2026. Discussion included a
summary of events and programs completed in 2025 with
participation numbers, budgets, sponsorships, successes, and
planned activities through 2026. Specific events and programs
included Rally in the Valley volleyball tournament, Dog Days,
TUMWATER PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION – OCTOBER 15, 2025 1
cornhole and kickball leagues, youth sports camps, Kick in the
Grass soccer tournament, sports field use, and shelter
reservations. The Commission also discussed 4th of July events,
Brewfest, Clean-Up, Drop-Off, Tree Lighting, the arts and music
programs, and cemetery improvements.
NEXT MEETING DATE: The next meeting is scheduled on Wednesday, November 19,
2025.
ADJOURNMENT: With there being no further business, Commissioners
Hargrove and Harrington adjourned the meeting at 8:43 p.m.
