Minutes HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION August 9, 2021, 6:00 PM Present: Mary Anne Butler, Holly Grell-Lawe, Marty Harrell, Spec Hosti, Michelle Owens Absent: Fidelia Fowler, Sarah Jones Vacancy: Once vacant seat Meeting called to order at 6 p.m. Approval of Minutes: July 12, 2021 minutes not approved due to lack of quorum. Old Business 1. Historic Building Maintenance — City manager rescheduled to provide update at a future meeting. 2. Mid-Island Historic Designation — The application is still under consideration at the state level. 3. Historic Signage Projects — Deferred update until next month when Sarah is present. 4. Equity/Inclusion Initiative — The planning group for the Lazaretto Creek historical marker would like a representative from HPC to attend. Michelle Owens asked for at least one member to consider attending. 5. Special Districts — Commission is ready to revisit this project, which was put on hold last summer. New Business a. Anthony Turpin resigned from the board. This opens a voting seat. Permit Reviews • 5 Cedarwood — The old bowling alley and library has asked for an interior tear out permit. Built in 1910. Approved.
