Tybee Island HISTORICAL PRESERVATION COMMISSION Meeting Minutes Date & Time: December 12, 2022 6:00PM Present: Holly Grell-Lawe, Cassidi Kendrick, Jackie Boiling, Marty Harrell,Sarah Jones, Mike Goldberg Absent: Mary Anne Butler, Spec Hosti Observers: Dawn Shay, Forever Tybee, Location: Burke Day Public Safety Building, Conference Room, 78 Van Horne Ave. Call to Order The meeting started at 6:01PM, a quorum was present. Approval of Minutes 1. Motion to Approve Meeting Minutes 10/10/22-Approved Marty H., Mike G. 2. HPC Membership- Michael Sergi resigned from HPC via email to Holly & Cassidi. The vacancy will be advertised. On-going Business 1. City Hall Renovation Update- Cassidi connected Sarah to a dropbox of photos of renovation and has a staff contact from the architect to follow up with during renovation. 2. Draft Elevation Guidelines- The guidelines are done. Sarah, Cassidi, Holly will meet January 17 at the lighthouse and will go through the draft elevation guidelines document. We will also discuss the logistics of the Annual Planning Meeting. 3. Fort Screven Signage - Posts will not be able to paint. Sign looks fantastic! The power will be cut off and Mike will be digging holes this Wednesday (December 13th). Offering pieces of the older sign to the legion. 4. HPC Community Communication- HPC still wants to expand on this to include more than social media. There were several initiatives considered for the communications, such as videos of the historic markers, website, article in beachcomber magazine, and case studies of projects happening. Also, a website needs to be created for the Black History Trail. 5. North Campbell Neighborhood Conservation District - Sarah will be looking for a letter as an example of what HPC needs to send. The public input meeting needs to be planned as part of next steps. Conservation District Ordinance is only for Historic Cottages. Jackie will update the flier.  6. Annual Planning Meeting January 21, 2023 - The meeting will be from 10 am- 2pm at the Guard House. Various partnering organizations will be invited to the planning session. The public is welcome to attend. Jackie will make a branded powerpoint for the presentation. New Business Announcements Permit Review- 13 lzler 7 7th Street 5 Taylor Street 14 17th Place Lazaretto Coalition Meeting- Meeting was postponed until the 14th. Meeting starts at 3 bring your own chair. Mike or Jackie can go. Tybee MLK - December 26th - First Day of Kwanzaa, January 12th 40 Acres and a Mule January 14th MLK Day Adjournment Meeting adjourned at 7:06PM.
