Shawn Gillen called the meeting to order at 10:00.
Action Items:
Peter Gulbronson and Shawn Gillen will be putting together a proposal for
financing some water/sewer projects. They will bring this proposal back to the
Infrastructure Committee and would like to bring it before the Council next month.
The Water and Sewer laboratory (which also serves other functions) is sinking, so it
is being treated as a priority building project.
The committee gave the go-ahead to Peter Gulbronson to install internal backflow
preventers.
Financing the clarifier for the Water and Sewer Dept. will be brought to Council
next month.
Shawn Gillen will be meeting with the Finance Director to discuss how Water and
Sewer projects will fit into the CIP.
Peter Gulbronson will explore what is possible for Jaycee Park fields with a reduced
budget and report back.
Shawn Gillen – Youth Football is a ‘go’ for the Fall 2020. He is exploring the
purchase of portable goal posts for the city to purchase. He will look at the new
budget and see what can be shifted around to fund the purchase.
Shawn Gillen would like for Peter Gulbronson to put improving the 19th St. parking
lot in the CIP.
Shawn Gillen would like to explore putting the field lights for Memorial Park on
existing structures.
Peter Gulbronson will create a new timeline for the Marsh Hen Trail and bring it
back next month.
Paving the entrance to DPW will proceed.
Shawn Gillen would like to create a plan for the bus drop-off at North Beach after
we see how traffic flows this year.
Peter Gulbronson will ask the DNR about using calcium chloride as a dust-control
agent for Solomon and for the North Beach parking lot.
Shawn Gillen and Peter Gulbronson will examine the dump’s hours to see what
they can do to accommodate business owners on very busy weekends.
The group would like hard data on how much money solar panels at Water and
Sewer facility would save before moving forward with the project.
Shawn Gillen will report back to the group on the status of a FEMA grant that we
applied for that will hopefully fund a study of our drainage issues as an island.
Peter Gulbronson will install removable speedbumps on Solomon.
William Mosely reported that the PD will be increasing patrols of Solomon and will
be putting up a speed sign so everyone can gain a better sense of how fast people
are actually going on Solomon.
Barry Brown made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Peter Gulbronson seconded.
Meeting adjourned at 11:22.
