City of Tybee Island Draft Minutes – June 25th Public Safety Committee In attendance : Alice Jonsson, Shawn Gillen, Peter Gulbronson, Matt Harrell, Joel Fobes, Tiffany Hayes, John Branigin, George Shaw, William Mosely, Walter Hattrich Meeting called to order at 2:00. George Shaw made a motion to approve minutes. Peter Gulbronson seconded. Motion approved. Solomon Issues - Matt Harrell will have some firetrucks test the layout on Solomon to make sure trucks can turn to access homes. Shawn Gillen – We will schedule a neighborhood Zoom meeting where options will be presented to the public to discuss. Peter Gulbronson and Shawn Gillen – The temp speed bump process will be brought to Council. 1. PG gets request from resident. 2. Resident must get over 50% favorable support from neighbors. 3. If a hump is available, the city would send a formal letter to residents and they will be given 30 days to respond. 4. Shawn Gillen signs off on it. PSC will continue discussion of one-way on 5th. Alley 3 – The committee will ask Bubba Hughes about how we could potentially place limits on commercial use of Alley 3. Matt Harrell pointed out that MRS and TIFD must be able to put boats and rescue SARs in at Alley 3. Tents on Beach – The committee will explore this issue further for next season.
