Main Street Monthly Board Meeting

M I N U T E S MAIN STREET/DDA MONTHLY BOARD MEETING Date & Time: November, 15, 2023, 4:00 pm Present: Beth Martin, Sarah Bernzott, Charissa Murray, Michael Flores, Dillon Patel, Cate Campbell, Susan Kelleher, Keni Lozada, Kelly Swope Absent: Observers: Ruthie Wilson Forever Tybee Location: Burke Day Public Safety Building, Conference Building, 78 Van Horne Ave Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 4:03pm. A quorum was present. Approval of Minutes The minutes from the October 25, 2023 Meeting were approved with a motion from Kelly Swope and a second from Beth Martin. Old Business There was no old business to discuss. New Business Design Committee Michael Flores provided an update on the landscaping improvements taking place on the south end, including white rock and some removal of shrubbery. City Staff is working with the prospective electrician to answer questions and begin work on the Tybrisa Street electrical improvements. The committee is still waiting on an update from GA Power regarding the new streetlights. An invoice has already been sent to the City for the new lights. New street furniture has been installed, including benches, and waste receptacles. Susan Kelleher also provided a quick update on the corn hole tournament needs. The committee gave a shout out to DPW for the all their hard work lately. Cassidi Kendrick has been working with Visit Tybee on replacing the info hut on the south end. The Christmas decorations have been installed by DPW, some locations had to be adjusted due to electrical needs. Promotion and Organization Committee Cassidi Kendrick provided an update regarding the Holiday Market. The committee is in the final prep stages of the event and is seeking volunteer coverage for the event from local organizations. Main Street is prepared to make a donation to any organization that can assist with manning a kids activity for the entire event. 50+ Vendor packets are currently being assembled and will be distributed the morning of the event. Applications for the Christmas parade are wrapping up and t-shirt sales for the polar plunge have launched online.There was ample discussion regarding the final details of the upcoming holiday events. Beth Martin proposed a recycling event after the new year, more details will be shared at a later date.
