Tyrone Town Council Meeting Minutes August 22, 2019 Special Called 6:30 pm Present: Mayor, Eric Dial Mayor Pro Tem, Gloria Furr Council Member, Ken Matthews Council Member, Linda Howard Town Manager, Brandon Perkins Finance Manager, Sandy Beach Town Clerk, Dee Baker Council Member, Ryan Housley was absent Approval of Agenda: Council Member Furr made a motion to approve the agenda. Council Member Howard seconded the motion. Motion was approved 3-0. Old Business: Adoption of the millage rate of the Town of Tyrone for fiscal year 2019-2020. Brandon Perkins, Town Manager Ms. Beach informed everyone that Council had held three required public hearings and that staff recommended a vote of a 2.889 millage rate for the twelfth year in a row. She explained that a home valued at $300,000 would have an approximate tax increase of $15.46. A non-homestead home valued at $300,000 would pay an estimated $15.72. Mayor Dial announced that Council held several public hearings and had heard from the public on the matter. Council Member Matthews made a motion to approve the millage rate at 2.889 mills for 2019- 2020. Council Member Howard seconded the motion. Motion was approved 3-0.
