Clark, City Clerk URBANA CITY COUNCIL **SPECIAL MEETING** Monday, January 13, 2013 The City Council of the City of Urbana, Illinois, met in special session Monday, January 13, 2013 at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Urbana City Building. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL There being a quorum, Mayor Prussing called the meeting of the Urbana City Council to order at 7:05 p.m. *Started late due to Special Town Board Meeting. II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING Urbana City Council Minutes: January 13, 2013 Page 2 of 3 Alderman Roberts made a motion to approve minutes from meeting held on December 16, 2013. Alderwoman Ammons seconded. Motion carried by voice vote. III. PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS Paul Mueth addressed the committee with various concerns in regards to forms of communication within the council members and the public; and is in support of the IDOT Task Force formation. IV. UNFINISHED BUSINESS a. Continue Discussion – IDOT Mayor met with Alderman Brown and Alderwoman Ammons in private to work on a Resolution draft to be presented for discussion and to decide the direction of the Task Force. Alderman Brown updated a second Resolution draft by combining thoughts and ideas from Mayor Prussing; Alderwoman Ammons and his own into one document, which he read. After discussion Alderman Smyth made a motion to move this item to next council meeting for approval. Alderwoman Ammons seconded. Motion carried by voice vote. V. NEW BUSINESS 1. Mayoral Appointment a. Sustainability Advisory Commission – Brian Sproul Alderwoman Marlin made a motion to approve Mayoral Appointment as presented. Alderman Roberts seconded. Motion carried by voice vote. Action: Mayoral Appointment was approved as presented by a voice vote. 2. Ordinance No. 2014-01-115: An Ordinance Approving a Preliminary Development Plan for a Planned Unit Development (704 E Windsor Road / Verdant Prairies Village – Plan Case No. 2218-PUD-13) 3. Ordinance No. 2014-01-116: An Ordinance Approving a Final Development Plan for a Planned Unit Development (704 E Windsor Road / Verdant Prairies Village – Plan Case No. 2219-PUD-13) 4. Ordinance No. 2014-01-117: An Ordinance Approving a Preliminary Subdivision Plat (Verdant Prairies Village Subdivision – Plan Case No. 2217-S-13) Elizabeth Tyler, Community Development Director asked council to move this three items(Ordinances 2014-01-115; 2014-01-116 and 2014-01-117) to next council meeting which will take place February 3, 2014. Alderman Smyth made a motion to defer Ordinances 2014-01-115; 2014- 01-116 and 2014-01117 to next council meeting. Alderwoman Ammons seconded. Motion carried by voice vote. Action: These three items (Ordinances 2014-1-01-115; 2014-01-116 and 2014-01-117) were deferred to next council meeting on February 3, 2014. Urbana City Council Minutes: January 13, 2013 Page 3 of 3 VI.
