URBANA FIRE DEPARTMENT FOREIGN FIRE TAX BOARD MEETING DATE: November 11, 2019 TIME: 7:30 a.m. PLACE: Urbana City Council Chambers AGENDA Members present: Lane, Prendergast, Jannusch, Smith, Thomas 1. Call to Order: 0750 2. Approval of Minutes of Previous Meeting August 20, 2019: Not available, will approve at the next meeting 3. Approval of the Treasurer’s Report: Checking $20,685.40, Money Market $14,867.81, Total $35,553.21 4. Public Input: None 5. Old Business a. Picture Board: Discussion about who will take the pictures, Smith will get the picture board from Rolson and get it mounted, Lane will arrange the pictures b. Fire station recliners: Prendergast will get with Femi to write a RFP and post. c. Kitchen table and chairs Sta.1: Lane talked to a table manufacturer and received an estimated of $3500 for a new table that will be 4x10 not 4x8 like our current one, Chair estimate is $150 per chair for a total of $2000 Lane motions to allocate $11,000 for recliners, $3500 for table, and $2000 for kitchen chairs. Smith seconds. In favor: 5, against 0. Motion carries. d. Dorm room furniture (nightstands): Thomas received an estimate for nightstands Thomas motions to allocate no more than $7000 for 18 nightstands. Lane seconds. In favor: 5, against 0. Motion carries. e. Refrigerator purchase for stations 2&3: Thomas will purchase the refrigerator for station 2, money already allocated. f. Patio furniture Stations 1&3: Tabled for next meeting. Plow for vehicle: City said no. No action taken. h. Chairs for conference room: Discussion ensued. Lane motions to strike item. Smith seconds. In favor: 5, against 0. Motion carries. 6. New Business a. Epoxy floor coating Stations 2&3: Tabled until next meeting to get estimates. b. Review annual allotments: Thomas will send out to board. Allotments will remain the same. c. FDIC training Chief Lauss requested to send 4 people at a cost of $620/person to FDIC. Discussion ensued. Lane motions to strike from the agenda. Jannusch seconds. In favor: 5, against 0. Motion carries. d. ALTS training LT Doggett addressed the board to ask the board to cover the registration fee for 4 people at ALTS for a total of $1800. Discussion ensued. Jannusch motions to allocate $1800 to cover the registration fees for ALTS. Thomas seconds. Prendergast abstains. In favor: 4, against 0. Motion carries. 7. 2020 Meeting Schedule: February 11, 2020 May 12, 2020 August 11, 2020 November 10, 2020 8. For the Good of the Order: Ladder training will be scheduled in early summer. Thomas discussed the lockers for the officer cubicle at station 3. Lane will send out who is up for election. 9.
