MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING URBANA HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION DATE: Wednesday, July 11, 2018 TIME: 5:30 p.m. PLACE: Council Chambers 400 South Vine Street Urbana, Illinois 61801 MEMBERS PRESENT: Daniel Larson, Peter Resnick, Carol Bradford, Lisa Mosley, Frances Rigberg Baker, Samuel Byndom MEMBERS NOT PRESENT: Stacie Burnett, Lolita Dumas; Katalyna Thomas, STAFF PRESENT: Vacellia Clark, Preston James, Monique James, 1. CALL TO ORDER, ROLL CALL, AND DECLARATION OF QUORUM a. Chair Larson called this meeting of the Urbana Human Relations Commission to order at 5:31 p.m. Roll was taken. A quorum was present 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA a. Mrs. Mosley made a motion that the Commission approve the agenda as presented. Ms. Rigberg-Baker seconded the motion. Chair Larson called for a voice vote. The motion carried. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES a. June 13, 2018 Meeting i. Mrs. Mosley made a motion that the Commission approve the draft minutes of the June 13, 2018 meeting as presented. Mr. Byndom seconded the motion. Chair Larson called for a voice vote. The motion carried. 4. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION a. There was none. 5. OLD BUSINESS a. There was none. 6. NEW BUSINESS a. There was none. 7. STAFF REPORT a. Approval of EEO Workforce Statistics i. The EEO Workforce Statistics were reviewed and staff recommendations for approval were as follows: 1. Robinson Engineering. a. Recommend 2 years 2. Seiler Instrument Manufacturing a. Recommend 1 year 3. Key Equipment & Supplies Co a. Recommend 1 year 4. Kinney Contractors Inc. a. Recommend 1 year 5. Beniach Construction a. Recommend 2 years 6. Jack a Slab Constructions Inc. a. Recommend 2 years 7. Pierce Manufacturing Inc. a. Recommend 2 years 8. Corrective Asphalt a. Recommend 6 months 9. Duce Construction Company a. Recommend 1 year 10. Hanson Sixth Street a. Recommend 2 year 11. ERES International Inc. a. Recommend 2 years 12. Luicity a. Recommend 1 year 13. Hall Signs a. Recommend 1 year 14. Owens Excavating & Trucking a. Recommend 2 years 15. Nicks Inc. a. Recommend 2 years 16. CDS Office Systems Inc. a. Recommend 1 year 17. Koenig Body & Equipment Inc. a. Recommend 2 years Ms. Clark gave a brief presentation to the Commission regarding the workforce statistics for each contractor/vendor, all of which were renewals of previous certifications. Comments and questions from the Commission were addressed by Ms. Clark. Ms. Burnett made a motion that the Commission approve Robinson Engineering for 2 years, Seiler Instrument Manufacturing for 1 year, Corrective Asphalt for 6 months, Key Equipment & Supply Co for 1 year, Kinney Contractors Inc. for 1 year, Beniach Constructions for 1 year, Jack A Slab Constructions for 2 years, Pierce Manufacturing Inc. for 2 years, Corrective Asphalt for 6 months, Duce Construction Company for 1 year, Hanson Sixth Street for 2 years, ERES International Inc. for 2 years, Lucity 2  for 1 year, Hall Signs for 1 year, Owens Excavating & Trucking for 2 years, Nicks Inc. for 2 years, CDS Office Systems Inc. for 1 year and Koenig Body & Equipment Inc. for 2 years. All were in favor. The motion carried unanimously. b. HRO Activity Report i. Ms. Clark presented the monthly activity report to the Commission. Comments and questions from the Commission were addressed by Ms. Clark during the course of his presentation. 8. ANNOUNCEMENTS a. July 19th there will be a play date in Prairie Park 5:30-7 b. August 1st there will be a continued community discussion c. The annual Expungement Fair will be held at Stone Creek Church Oct 6th, 8:30am- 5:00pm. . 9. ADJOURNMENT a.
