Smyth, Township Clerk CUNNINGHAM TOWNSHIP BOARD Monday, February 10, 2020 The Cunningham Township Board met in Regular session Monday, February 10, 2020 at 6:30pm in the Council Chambers at the Urbana City Building, 400 S. Vine Street, Urbana, Illinois. ELECTED OFFICIALS PHYSICALLY PRESENT: Chair: Diane Wolfe Marlin Trustees: Bill Brown; Dean Hazen; Eric Jakobsson; Jared Miller; Dennis Roberts; Maryalice Wu Township Clerk: Absent Supervisor: Danielle Chynoweth Assessor: Wayne Williams (arrived at 6:42pm) ELECTED OFFICIALS PRESENT VIA TELECONFERENCE: None ELECTED OFFICIALS ABSENT: Shirese Hursey, Charles Smyth OTHERS PRESENT: Frederic Grosser; Kay Meharry 1. ROLL CALL Chair Marlin called the meeting of the Cunningham Township Board to order at 6:38pm, following a special joint meeting of the City Council and Cunningham Township. 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING Trustee Dennis Roberts made a motion to approve minutes of the following meetings: January 13, 2020. Motion was seconded by Trustee Jared Miller and carried by voice vote. 3. ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA There were none. 4. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION There was none. 5. COMMITTEE TO VERIFY BILLS The following items were presented in omnibus fashion: 1. Town Fund 2. General Assistance Fund Trustee Dennis Roberts made a motion to approve the Town Fund expenses for $32,659.62 and the General Assistance Fund expenses for $43,169.01. Trustee Jared Miller seconded. Motion carried by roll call vote as follows: Wu – yes; Jakobsson – yes; Brown – yes; Roberts – yes; Hazen – yes; Miller – yes. 6. REPORTS OF OFFICERS Supervisor Danielle Chynoweth reported on housing insecurity and homelessness. There are 95 participants in general assistance. Thirty of those participants are homeless, and average age is 47. Ms. Chynoweth informed trustees that as of January, 2020, Cunningham Township is an official University of Illinois School of Social Work field site. She is the field instructor for five students. They also have a structured internship and volunteer program and can accommodate eight interns per semester. She spoke about the exhibition at the University YMCA, Our Stories, Our Places, Our Resilient Selves. Opening reception is February 13 from 5 to 7pm and the exhibition runs until March 20, 2020. Township Assessor Wayne Williams announced that the Township Assessor’s website is up and Cunningham Township Board Minutes February 10, 2020 Page 2 of 2 running. He said they are the first township in Champaign County with searchable property information. The website address is: www.ctao.us. 7. UNFINISHED BUSINESS There was none. 8. NEW BUSINESS a. Resolution No. T-2020-02-005R: Resolution Regarding the Release of Closed Sessions Minutes (For the period ending January 31, 2020) Trustee Miller made a motion to approve Resolution No. T-2020-02-005R. Motion seconded and carried by roll call vote as follows: Brown - yes; Hazen - yes; Jakobsson - yes; Miller - yes; Roberts - yes; Wu – yes. 9. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the Cunningham Town Board, Chair Marlin declared the meeting adjourned at 6:58pm.
