Smyth, Township Clerk CUNNINGHAM TOWNSHIP BOARD Public Hearing Minutes Monday, July 1, 2019 The Cunningham Township Board held a Public Hearing to receive public input on the FY 2019 – 2020 Annual Budget on Monday, July 1, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Urbana City Building, 400 S. Vine Street, Urbana, Illinois. ELECTED OFFICIALS PHYSICALLY PRESENT: Chair: Dennis Roberts, Trustee Trustees: Bill Brown, Shirese Hursey, Eric Jakobsson, Jared Miller, Maryalice Wu Town Clerk: Charles A. Smyth Supervisor: Danielle Chynoweth Assessor: Wayne Williams ELECTED OFFICIALS PRESENT VIA TELECONFERENCE: None ELECTED OFFICIALS ABSENT: Diane Wolfe Marlin, Dean Hazen OTHERS PRESENT: Frederic Grosser, Katie Moore, William Harris, and Members of the Media 1. ROLL CALL Chair Pro Tem Roberts called the Public Hearing of the Cunningham Township Board to order at 7:00 pm. 2. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION Katie Moore, former employee of the Cunningham Township Assessor’s office, provided input concerning the $71,000 increase for personnel in the Assessor’s budget proposal and stated it as unnecessary and a waste of taxpayer money. She disputed statements from the previous month and noted that property cards and assessments were reviewed on a regular basis. She also noted that the Champaign Township Assessor’s office has 3 full time and a part time employee for 25,000 parcels while the Cunningham Assessor already has 4 staff and 3 interns. In response to Trustee Jakobsson, Ms. Moore believed that reassessments were continually done on residential properties but not on commercial properties. 3. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the Cunningham Township Board, Chair Roberts declared the hearing adjourned at 7:10 pm. Charles A.
