At this pace, sales tax alone is projected to come in at $19,750,000 and Cannabis Excise Tax is estimated to come in over $225,000 for FY 2024-2025 — altogether, these two lines will bring in a combined total of ~$20 million (instead of the projected $19,750,000 for both.) This means, that currently between Sales Tax ($19,750,000) and Cannabis Excise Tax ($250,000), the city is estimating a ZERO percent growth in this revenue. Last year, the city projected a 4.72% increase in sales tax — we have obviously exceeded those numbers at 5.3% — which is why this amendment is only requesting that the city project at least a 1% growth in sales tax for 2025-2026 instead of ZERO.
