Main St. Uvalde, TX 78801 The Historic Preservation Board of the City of Uvalde was called to order on Thursday February 22, 2024, at 6:00PM, in the City Hall, Council Chambers, with the following members present: BOARD Nancy Bennett-Board Chair MEMBERS Debbie Esser PRESENT: David Mancha Joe Strickland BOARD Olga Charles MEMBERS Dianne Trevino ABSENT: Ben Elliott-Alt. Rosy Rodriguez-Alt. STAFF Susan Anderson-Director of Planning and Development PRESENT: Sorayda A. Sanchez-City Secretary Gloria Resma-Main Street Manager 1 CALL MEETING TO ORDER 2 APPROVAL OF MINUTES 2A. Consider approving the minutes of the January 25, 2024, Historic Preservation Board meeting. Motion to approve agenda item 2A made by Board Member Joe Strickland. Motion seconded by Board Member David Mancha. Motion carried 4-0. 3 NEW BUSINESS 3A. Consider and act on a request for Facade Grant for 120 N. Camp St., Estetica Med Spa. Susan Anderson, Director of Planning and Development explained to the board members present that this request has been brought for board approval because the business owner is requesting a facade grant. The sign she is proposing is the same size and look as the existing sign. The cost for signage is $3,000, making the facade grant request $1,500. Motion to approve agenda item 3A made by Board Member Debbie Esser. Motion seconded by Board Member Joe Strickland. Motion carried 4-0. 3B. Consider and act on a request for Facade Grant for 111 W. South St., The Page Page31ofof12  Commons on West. Susan Anderson, Director of Planning and Development explained to the board members present that this is another request for a facade grant. The total cost of the project is $12,800, making the facade grant request $6,400. Board members questioned staff regarding the funds available for facade grants. Staff stated that the budgeted amount for facade grants is $20,000 a budget year funded through hotel- motel tax. The budget year begins in October and there have been no facade grants awarded this budget year. Motion to approve agenda item 3B made by Board Member Joe Strickland. Motion seconded by Board Member Debbie Esser. Motion carried 4- 0. 4 ADJOURNMENT Motion to adjourn made by Board Member Debbie Esser. Motion seconded by Board Member Nancy Bennett.
