Main St. Uvalde, TX 78801 The Historic Preservation Board of the City of Uvalde was called to order on Thursday April 25, 2024, at 5:30PM, in the City Hall, Council Chambers, with the following members present: BOARD Nancy Bennett-Board Chair MEMBERS Olga Charles PRESENT: David Mancha Rosy Rodriguez-Alt. Sanchez-City Secretary Gloria Resma-Main Street Manager 1 CALL MEETING TO ORDER 2 APPROVAL OF MINUTES 2A. Consider approving the minutes of the February 22, 2024, Historic Preservation Board meeting. Motion to approve the minutes of the February 22, 2024, Historic Preservation Board meeting made by Board Alternate Rosy Rodriguez. Motion seconded by Board Member Olga Charles. Motion carried 4-0. 3 NEW BUSINESS 3A. Consider and act on a request for Facade Grant for 133 N. Camp St., Ede and Company. Susan Anderson, Director of Planning and Development explained to board members that this is a facade grant request from Donna Ede. The Ede family are planning to make the following upgrades to the building: wood framing and sheeting to raise parapet wall to 5', new roofing scuppers, flashings, and downspouts for parapet, new metal panels on all exterior face of parapet wall, new plaster over existing exterior brick walls along front of building and alley side, and apply new elastomeric water proof coating on all new plater and existing brick exterior surfaces. The estimated cost of the project is $48,550.00. Board Members discussed the request and asked Gloria Page Page31ofof11 2 Resma, Main Street Manager how much money was left in the facade grant budget. Ms. Resma stated that there is $3,100 left in the budget. Board members would like to grant the total remaining funds to Ede and Company for the repairs to their building located at 133 N. Camp St. Board members asked about Mrs. Ede's eligibility to apply for the facade grant once the new budget takes effect. Staff confirmed that she could indeed apply for the grant and use the funds for signage. Motion to approve the facade grant request in the amount of $3,100 for 133 N. Camp St. made by Board Alternate Rosy Rodriguez. Motion seconded by Board Member David Mancha. Motion carried 4- 0. 4 ADJOURNMENT Motion to adjourn made by Board Alternate Rosy Rodriguez.
