The Regular Historic Preservation Board meeting of the City of Uvalde was called to order on
Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 5:30 PM, in the City Hall Council Chambers, with the following
members present:

1 CALL MEETING TO ORDER
2 APPROVAL OF MINUTES
2A. Consider approving the minutes of the March 27, 2025 Historic Preservation
Board meeting.
Motion to approve agenda item 2A made by Board Member Olga Charles. Motion
seconded by Board Member Dianne Treviño. Motion carried 4-0.
3 NEW BUSINESS
3A. Consider and act on a Certificate of Appropriateness Application for 340 N.
Getty St., Uvalde Area Chamber of Commerce.
Susan Anderson, Director of Planning and Development addressed board members
present. Mrs. Anderson shared that the Uvalde Area Chamber of Commerce will be
expanding their existing building. The plans include the addition of an annex at the
rear of the building, featuring an outdoor patio space. The annex will follow the
existing roofline and use matching materials, measuring approximately 30 by 32 feet,
and will connect to a covered patio area measuring 15 by 32 feet. Additionally, they
will be expanding the existing garage/storage structure at the back of the property,
also using the same roofline and materials. Mario J. Miller, Executive Director of
Uvalde Area Chamber of Commerce addressed board members present. Mr. Miller

shared that this new space will include office units and storage areas designed to
support local businesses. The offices will serve as startup spaces for new businesses,
allowing them to grow and eventually transition to their own locations. The storage
units will be made available to service-based businesses, such as plumbers, HVAC
technicians, and welders, providing them with secure space for their tools and
equipment. Motion to approve agenda item 3A made by Board Member Dianne
Treviño. Motion seconded by Board Member Olga Charles. Motion carried 4-0.
4 ADJOURNMENT
Motion to adjourn made by Board Member Olga Charles. Motion seconded by Board Member
David Mancha. Motion carried 4-0.
