City Council Special Meeting September 28, 2023 6:25 p.m. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: The Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag was given by all that were present. CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Gottman called the Special Meeting of the Vandalia City Council to order at 6:25 pm. ROLL CALL: Aldermen Brosman, Hubler, Bowen, Lester, and Barker were present. Hobler, Stunkel and Lewey were absent. WATER AND SEWER RATES: Bret Brosman stated that the Water/Sewer Committee met prior to the Special Council meeting. Recommendation to the Council was to follow the auditor’s recommendation to increase the water rates by 9.45% and the sewer rates by 5.00%. Motion was made by Brosman and seconded by Barker to make the recommendation to the Council to increase the water rates by 9.45% and the sewer rates by 5.00%. There were no objections. Motion carried. ADJOURNMENT: Motion was made by Hubler and seconded by Brosman to adjourn the meeting at 6:30 p.m. ____________________________________ Carla Huhn, City Clerk 1 2
