CITY OF VERONA MINUTES FINANCE COMMITTEE SEPTEMBER 8, 2014 VERONA CITY HALL 1. The meeting was called to order by Mac McGilvray at 6:35 p.m. 2 Roll Call: William “Mac” McGilvray, Elizabeth Doyle, Jack Linder. Also present: Jon Hochkammer, Mayor; Bill Burns, City Administrator. 3. Approval of the 8/25/2014 Finance Committee Minutes: Motion by McGilvray, seconded by Linder, to approve the 8/25/2014 Finance Committee minutes. Motion carried 3-0. 4. Payment of Bills: Motion by Linder, seconded by Doyle, to approve the payment of bills in the amount of $377,949.33. Motion carried 3-0. 5. Out-of-Office Checks: Motion by McGilvray, seconded by Linder, to approve the payment of bills in the amount of $4,851.86. Motion carried 3-0. 6. Resolution R-14-041 Requesting Exemption from the Dane County Library Tax: Motion by Linder, seconded by Doyle, to recommend that the City Council approve Resolution R-14- 041 requesting an exemption from the Dane County Library Tax. Motion Carried 3-0. Committee members noted that as the City approaches paying off the debt service for the library, the City should evaluate the level of funding for the library and the minimum level needed for exemption under the County Library Tax. 7.
