FINANCE COMMITTEE
APRIL 24, 2017
The meeting was called to order by William “Mac” McGilvray at 6:30 p.m.
Roll Call: William “Mac” McGilvray, Jack Linder, and Elizabeth Doyle.
Also present: City Administrator Jeff Mikorski and Finance Director Brian Lamers
Discussion and Possible Action regarding approval of 04/10/2017 Finance Committee minutes:
Motion by McGilvray, seconded by Linder, to approve the 04/10/2017 Finance Committee
minutes. Motion carried 3-0.
Discussion and Possible Action regarding the payment of bills:
Motion by McGilvray, seconded by Doyle, to approve the April 24 payment of bills totaling
$684,121.15. Motion carried 3-0.
Discussion and Possible Action re: Investment Services for the City of Verona.
City Administrator reminded the committee of the three firm that presented to the Finance
Committee: Ehlers Investment Partners, PMA Financial Network, Inc., and Dana Investment
Advisors. The Finance Committee discussed what they liked and didn’t like regarding the firms.
Strategy to developing the investment portfolio, and cost were identified as important features
for the City’s investment services. Motion by McGilvray, seconded by Linder, for City
Administration to engage Dana Investment Advisors for investment services. Motion carried 3-0.
Adjournment: Motion by McGilvray, seconded by Doyle, to adjourn the Finance Committee
Meeting at 6:55 p.m. Motion carried 3-0.
