City of Verona Finance Committee City Hall – 111 Lincoln Street Verona, WI 53593-1520 MINUTES FINANCE COMMITTEE OCTOBER 24, 2022 The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Chad Kemp at 6:30 p.m. Roll Call: Chairperson Chad Kemp, Alder Mara Helmke and Alder Christine Posey were present. Also present: City Administrator Adam Sayre and Finance Director Brian Lamers. Discussion and Possible Action regarding approval of October 10, 2022, Finance Committee minutes: Motion was made by Posey, seconded by Helmke to approve the October 10, 2022, Finance Committee minutes with no changes noted. Motion carried 3-0. Discussion and Possible Action regarding recommending to the City Council Resolution R-22- 045, Resolution Approving the 2023 Fitch-Rona EMS Operating and Capital Budgets: Motion was made by Kemp, seconded by Helmke to recommend to the City Council approval of Resolution R-22-045, Approving the 2023 Fitch-Rona EMS Operating and Capital Budgets. Motion carried 3-0. Discussion and Possible Action regarding any updates or information on the 2023 Budget: Helmke asked about the sidewalk addition on North Nine Mount Drive and it being eliminated out of the budget. After further discussion Administration will review the actual cost with the Public Works Director. Lamers stated that we are unable to figure out the mill rate because we have not received the final equated statement of assessment from the Wisconsin Department of Revenue because there is an appeal pending from Carnes Corporation which is a manufacture and assessed by the state. Discussion and Possible Action regarding the payment of bills: Motion was made by Kemp, seconded by Helmke to approve the payment of bills totaling $214,035.81. Motion carried 3-0. Adjournment: Motion was made by Posey, seconded by Helmke to adjourn the Finance Committee Meeting at 6:57 p.m. Motion carried 3-0.
